Glad to see that. Will help make the Big East the power conference we all want it to be. Now only if DePaul can get its act together.

But not too together. I like that MU can grab a stud out of Chicago on a semi-regular basis.

Good for Seton Hall.   Better that they beat out IU.

Been known for a few weeks when they wanted to package in his high school coach.  At that point it became SJU or SHU.  Note that SHU hired Tiny Norton, Whitehead's high school coach.    Proximity to home was big as well.  "I couldn't leave my mom," stated Whitehead.  There you go.

He is also friends with Carrington and Delgado.  Strong class for them.

Ok, how is something like this not against NCAA rules?  Just surprising with other minor violations that lead to suspensions and fines, but a coach and recruit being signed as a package?  Seems a little odd.

Because they actually hired him as one of the three assistants allowed on staff. In the past, the problem was that schools would hire a father or coach for some mundane job, like assistant video coordinator, that had no real duties but allowed the school to funnel cash to the recruit through the father/coach. By forcing schools to only make these kinds of hires with positions that are actually pretty important (on par with the role Chew and Autry currently fill) it dissuades schools from just handing out jobs to secure recruits.

+1.  A rising tide does lift all boats, but I want MU to be the premiere boat in Chicagoland

Depaul is more like a garbage barge right now.

Its good to see quality players choosing Big East schools. Does anyone know if this guy is related to Jerome Whitehead? Former MU great.

Jerome was from Waukegan, Illinois.  They could still be related, I guess.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Great news for the Pirates. If they could turn into a halfway decent bubble team every three years or so, I'd call it a win.

Isaiah's mother and Jerome's mother are both mothers. Therefore, they are related.

So they are both brothers, right?

+1. That is my hope for Providence as well. And maybe someday DePaul.

With the recruits Cooley is bringing in, I am hoping that the Friars are in the tournament every three years or so.

In the new conference I expect Marquette, Georgetown, and Nova to get to the tournament almost every year. On top of those three I expect to send 1-3 more every year. Those 1-3 will switch off between the remaining six...and then there's Depaul

People continue to overlook St. John's.  Early NBA draft entries is the only thing standing between them and a three year NCAA tournament run.

With the recruits Cooley is bringing in, I would hope that they would make the tournament a lot more frequently than every three years.

I absolutley think they are a contender for the title this year. I'm not convinced they will be in the tournament every year. But I would put them as the fourth most powerful team in the conference behind Georgetown, us, and Nova.
