TAMU, Knower of Ball

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/basketball/mens/story/_/id/9686718/alex-owens-no-44-class-2015-picks-ucf-louisville-florida

Alex Owens (2015, #44 overall, #9 PF) committed to UCF today. We are mentioned in the ESPN article as having interest. Personally hadn't heard a lot about the kid but it sounds like we got in late and UCF has been in there forever.

TAMU

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

"They play in the same league as Louisville, Cincinnati and UConn," Owens said. "Louisville won the national title last year."

It sounds like Alex is not up to date on Louisville's conference affiliation plans.  He seems to think that he will be playing them.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I am sure most kids do not know what teams are in each conference now, even a fanatic like me, does not know where everybody went.  Louisville is in that conference this year so
maybe he is a one and done, because they will not be there in 2 years.  He is somewhat right.  So it states MU showed interest, does that mean they sent a letter and gave him a
phone call?

I've been very high on Owens. I don't mean this in the wrong way, but might he switch schools before it's all said and done?

Incredible job with E1T1 this summer. Now, great team, but he was playing up and dominated the boards (including regular season + Peach Jam, his 27.8% DR% was the best in the EYBL - ahead of Delgado [Seton Hall '14 commit from NY Lightning]).

OR% was off the charts as well (nearly 18%), ORtg of 123.5, block % over 7%... turnovers were 22%+, but he'll improve there. Will be interesting to watch him with a bigger role.. shot 67.7% eFG and had a usage of nearly 21%. Looks like he could do 60%+ and 24-26% next spring, while dominating the boards.

I really like him.

The portal is NOT closed.

GGGG

They will not be in the conference at all when he starts playing.  They are in the ACC next year.

Well that is what Louisville is with the AAC a one and done!
