Apologies if this has been covered in another post that I missed, but I was very glad to see the large slate of non-conference games that will be televised on Fox Sports.
For those outside of the Milwaukee metro area that normally wouldn't get to see them, here's the non-conf schedule that (apparently) will air nationally:

11/12 - vs. Grambling (FS1)
11/16 - vs. Ohio State (Fox)
11/25 - @ Arizona St. (FS1)
12/14 - vs. IUPUI (FS1)
12/17 - vs. Ball St. (FS1)
12/28 - vs. Samford (FSN - so may not be national)

It's a great thing that many non-league games for the whole Big East will be on FS1, FS2 and CBS Sports Network.

I'm glad you list tOSU as a cupcake.

It's great for us, not great for FS1.  They are really getting killed right now and those games are not going to move the needle for them.

Has there been any other mention of FS2? Has the transition happened?

I don't even see it on my cable lineup. Have they announced which games are going to be on the mothership, which on FS1, and which on FS2?

Yes, it already happened.  August 19th.  It replaced FUEL for most systems.  Probably on a higher tier as well.

Marquette vs. Ohio State only game that will air nationally on Fox this year.

Have they had much live content yet besides the first couple weeks of college FB?
And while it's true that MU/IUPUI will not be a ratings beast, it doesn't cost them anything additional in rights fees beyond production costs, so why not broadcast a live event instead of a rerun of their highlights show?

Opportunity costs.  What could they have on instead of that MU/IUPUI game that could deliver a stronger number.  But that's the nature of the beast...it's going to be a slog for them for awhile.  I can't see them being a profitable venture (if you were to look at the channels in a separate P & L and not part of NewsCorp umbrella) for a number of years.  David Hill says 2.5 years....I think that might be giddy talk, but we'll see.

Does the average sports fan even know Fox Sports 1 exists?  If not for Marquette and the Big East I wouldn't know.

Hopefully they will drop some more commercials during NFL games to increase the awareness.

I think you have hit the nail squarely on the head.  Had the same conversation with the Fox boys and girls yesterday and again today.  They know it, they are going to ramp up their efforts.

In conversations with the folks from Fox, are they aware that FS1 is only on the Top 200 and above packages on Dish Network?  Is anything being done by Fox to try to move it to a lower tier (ie. Top 120 or Top 120+)???

I imagine far less than half of DISH's subscribers have FS1 in their living rooms.

Is all other coverage regional? Will we get Marquette games in Indy on FS1?

Good question.  Will all those games on FSN1 be aired nationally, or will there be several games on FSN1 each night, and it depends on where you live for what you get.

Good question.

That would be a DISH decision, not FOX.  DISH doesn't want to pay FOX on larger distribution.....every subscriber X $0.23 (if you believe industry reports...I will neither confirm nor deny   http://www.vuhoops.com/catholic-7-news-analysis/2013/8/15/4624994/big-east-tv-partner-fox-sports-1-will-be-the-largest-sports-network  ) X 12 months.  It ends up being a ton of money.  The greater the distribution, the greater the expense for the carrier, in this case DISH.  For DISH to recoup those costs, they have to raise prices which everyone is loathe to do, especially for sports when so many people don't care about sports.  So I wouldn't be surprised to see it potentially be added to a lower tier when their rate increases come around as that can be a tactic a carrier can take..."we raised your price but we are giving you 2 more channels and more VOD, etc, etc"

FOX definitely wants to be on a lower tier....the more eyeballs, more money for them in subscription rates and more eyeballs to sell to advertisers.

Not sure what you or anyone else was expecting at this stage. FS1 is going up against a network with a 30-year head start. I have total faith in Fox Sports. Give it some time and they'll move the needle...especially when they grab a chunk of the NBA and perhaps add a Thursday night NFL game.

Speaking of Dish, they're making noise about dropping ESPN at the end of the month.
Doubt it happens, but it'll be fun to watch:

I meant on the regular Fox channel. Rest on Fox Sports 1. Some of these will be national.

I have a lot of faith in them as well, many are friends and former colleagues.  Based on body language and conversations, they are a bit disappointed with the initial results, but that's part of the long slog IMO.  They get it.  Hitting a home run in this business is really really hard.  Harder than ever today with the microscope and hypercritical nature of things.  They will make some changes, some minor and I would not be surprised if some are pretty big and even in short order.

Ellenson Guerrero

Is the fact that FS1 hasn't immediately cut into ESPN's market share really surprising anyone? If you are an exec at Fox didn't you already know this was going to have to be a 5+ year battle?

If anyone is going to do it, Charlie would be the one.

It's gonna be tough for a couple years.  Already though, Fox Sports 1 ratings were better than ESPNU, NBC Sports Network and CBS Sports Network last week.  It's gonna take awhile to defeat ESPN2 consistently (probably a few years).  As long as Fox can get a chunk of the Big Ten and NBA which I think they will, FS1 will be fine.

Here's the complete list of every college basketball game Fox Sports is airing.

http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/marq/sports/m-baskbl/auto_pdf/2013-14/misc_non_event/bigeast_schedule.pdf

There are no overlaps on FS1. If you see a game listed and it says FS1, it's on where you live.

The Marquette-Ohio State game is the first ever college basketball game broadcast on the over the air broadcast Fox. It airs nationally.
