Ben Lammers narrows list

Ben Lammers a 6'10 center out of Alamo Heights HS in San Antonio, Tx. has lined up and started taking his official visits.

First up was Marquette, which Lammers took last weekend. Lammers told me, "It was really good, I really liked how they are a basketball first school and I could see myself going there." The Golden Eagles have two commitments in the '14 class already with wing Malek Harris and shooting guard Sandy Cohen already in the fold.

Next up, this weekend, is Georgia Tech for Lammers. Looking forward to his visit, Lammers says, "(going into the visit) I am curious what my role will be and how they are going to make me a better player." The Yellow Jackets have one commitment with guard Tadric Jackson already in the fold.

Lammers with take his last two official visits to Miami on September 13 and Stanford September 27. The Hurricanes hold two commitments from point guard Jaquan Newton and wing James Palmer and the Cardinal have yet to gain any commitments.

Also Lammers still has the door open to Kansas St and St Louis, but has yet to set visits to either.

Silenzio. Parla il moomoo.

LAMUfan

good to hear, that is getting to be an impressive list of schools with interest

source?

Here's hoping he chooses Marquette mostly for selfish reasons, but there is also the fact that Buzz takes good players and makes them great. Buzz has also assembled a pretty nice complement of guards to work with a big man such as Lammers. There's also the fact that at a basketball-first school like Marquette he will be the biggest celebrity on campus. Can't hurt our chances.

Of the schools specifically mentioned I'd say we're the highest profile.  Ben would be a nice addition.

The Lens

I'm still bullish on Diamond Stone and would like to have someone he can practice against.

Nothing wrong with Stanford if you also value an education.

I know these are standard things for a guy to be thinking about when choosing a school/team/coach, but I can't help but wonder if talking to Buzz has put that in the forefront of his mind.

All he has to say is "look at the roster" MU have no height, so PT is available!

Stanford is one of the most difficult schools in the country to get into. The campus is beautiful. Great location to go to school.

Does he have 2 eyes?

Hard to beat the weather and campus,  this would be the toughest competition, but most of the schools he is looking at have nice climates.  Should be interesting.

LAZER

I like MU's chances. Highest profile of his schools, immediate playing time available, and surrounded by great talent.  I'm feeling good about this one.

I believe that that was MU82's point.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Isn't Stanford that school where kids go if they can't get into Marquette?

Not in those words, but they have eliminated schools from consideration after the visit.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I have a good feeling about this recruit. Good size, good attitude, and is on the upswing at the right time. I could see him getting solid playing time as a freshman (probably comes off the bench for McKay) and then possibly starting as a sophomore.

Come on Blammers, we got prestige, talent, and playing time. What's not to love? Sign that dotted line!

I'm going to be praying he won't be starting because we'll have our diamond

Mike Shaw pretty much did this after his MU visit

I'm hoping so too. That's why I said possibly. If we do grab Stone, then Lammers will start his junior year after Stone will (most likely) go pro.
