" Williams' offenses have never been outside the top-40 in efficiency, yet he's played as slow as 63.7 adjusted possessions per game (309th fastest) and as fast as 71.4 possessions (9th fastest)."

Wow; as buzz would say, he tries to be about winning, not reall about any defined system o offensive play.

These two stats shouldn't go together in college hoops...but they do for Buzz. Check it out.

Most coaches build the same house every year and hope their talent suits it. Buzz is Frank Lloyd Wright, a master builder/architect whose brand new home each year maximizes the pluses and masks the deficiencies of his players.

I think he does have a defined system in that he always wants to get a paint touch before someone takes a shot.  He wants that whether they are playing fast or slow.  Also he wants to try to get fouled regardless of how they are playing (remember make more FF than the other team takes).  Buzz has said many times "that is how we are built."  Buzz recruits players who wil create fouls on offense and play defense without fouling.  That is a constant whether he has a fast team or more of a half court team.

Good job as usual Strotty.

I'm interested to see how the Transition PPP rankings relate to total Transition Points per game rankings.
Logic would dictate that the more efficient transition teams are the ones that get out and run less often, like MU. Does that bear out with the rest of the top 15?

This.  Buzz has referenced this a few times when he speaks.

I think Buzz's plan is quite simply.

1.  Collect quality athletes that can play multiple positions.
2.  ?????
3.  Profit

Each year he adapts number 2 to best fit the teams talents.

Paint Touches off to a great start, thanks for the refreshment.

Really nicely done.

Would it be worth it to add a 3rd column to your chart and look at 3pt FG efficiency or percentage? I have a feeling that is where these other teams really outperform MU.
