Is that the one with gay/lesbian programming  or the mormon one? I get all of these channels mixed up.

Same channel that has the Yankees.  How can you possibly get mixed up when LOGO is your prime channel?

Jay Bee

I'd like to see some games on Disney. They do well with basketball programming.

The portal is NOT closed.

Coleman

Well that kinda sucks. I don't get YES, and I think most others in the midwest don't either, without some sort of premium package.

Hopefully these are just the St. Johns-Seton Hall-Providence etc. matchups.

I get YES, but then again I live in Yankees broadcast territory.

Wouldn't matter in Chicago anyways. It is a waste of a channel for games anyways, since any time Marquette happened to be playing the game would always be blacked out.

TallTitan34

It doesn't say it is exclusive to YES.   Aren't they probably just airing the FS1 feed?

Games on YES were never blacked out for me (DTV).

I live in Milwaukee, WI and have Time Warner Cable and I get YES.  It might be part of a premier plan that would best be described as...channels people who like sports would watch.

IIRC you still must buy the Sports pack to get YES on D*

It's part of TWC Sports Pass ($8.99/month).

May very well be. I've watched MU games over the last few years that were broadcast on the Big East Network (according to the logo on the bottom of the screen), but another channel on Comcast in Chicago picked it up, thankfully.

Depends where you live.  If you are outside the YES territory (which is zip code driven), then it is part of Sports Pack.  If you are in the YES territory, then you are ok as long as you have CHOICE or above package.  Below CHOICE it will not be included.

DISH doesn't carry YES.  Not sure about the others.

I doubt that will be the case.  Fox is a minority owner of YES and my guess is they have sold off some of their inventory to YES in this case so it will likely be the only place to see it.  Now, if MU is involved, don't be surprised if it is also available in MU's home territory with TWC assuming such an arrangement exists again with TWC this year.

Just a hunch on my part, do not have the details yet to substantiate it.

MU82

Oh darn. Now I'll have to go out to bars to watch some games. I hate when that happens. I'll have to try to remember how to drink a beer. Or six.

Because you are not considered in the "in market" territory of the Nets or Yankees.  There is the In Market, the Outer Market and the Out of Market designations when it comes to sports.

muwarrior69

I get it. The "in market" can see the Yankees and Nets. The other markets do not. My question Chicos is: Would the markets that are blacked out also be blacked out for college basketball under the FS1 arrangement?

What's the difference between "Outer market" and "out of market".  Location of another team?

Spotcheck Billy

apparently Milwaukee has never been YES territory since I've only got YES when buying the Sports pack

All I know is for sure its not on RCN in Chicago and I'm fairly certain its not on Comcast either.

No, they wouldn't be blacked out under the same guidelines as those particular blackouts are driven by the team territories designated by the NBA and MLB.

However, as mentioned earlier, if MU has a deal with TWC or someone else that does a special carveout for an additional blackout territory (think Milwaukee area) then that can come into play.  I don't know what TWC's deal will be this year, but in the last few years they have had that protection in the Milwaukee area.
