Great event, as usual.

Jimmy F. Butler was there.  Jerel McNeal too.  Bo Ellis, Earl Tatum.

Homer warmed up the crowd for a few minutes, then Buzz came up and intro'd all the other sports' coaches, trying to share the spotlight with them.

Buzz handed out E8 rings to the coaches, team docs, Fr. Kelly .. and (almost) all the players of course.

He mentioned Jamil wasn't there "and to you message board guys, not because I'm mad at him" .. but because he was at a camp, out East.  And Davante was in Colorado for try-outs on the national team.

Vander?  Not there, not mentioned.

Good seeing you there mu_hilltopper.

Other than embarrassing my daughters when I apparently said "JIMMY BUTLER" too loudly as we were first walking in, my family had a great time.  I was proud of myself that I left out the middle portion of "JFB" when I said it and hey, he was right there at the entrance.  What is an MU fan supposed to do?

I still say it wasn't THAT loud.

Only one Vander mention. When Buzz was introducing Mayo he said had he played against Green Bay they would have won: "Jake Thomas couldn't hit a shot. Junior shouldn't take a shot. Vander can't shoot."

Not as awkward for Buzz as it was last year, hey?

Technically, it is the Marquette Athletics Backyard Barbecue Hosted By Buzz Williams, which is much catchier than Buzz' BBQ.

If I wasn't computer illiterate, you would see this Hall and Oates album that I had autographed.

It says, " I am like a turtle" and the signed by Buzz

This is wrong on so many levels.

Man, Buzz was brutal at times.  Talking about Junior, and it being a miracle he even qualified to get into Marquette, a "word he couldn't even spell.."

Wasn't it said that Junior had a 4.0 in HS?  How bad was this "school" he went to in Houston?

Don't get the reference. Was hoping for a country roads album.

Only took Junior graduating for Buzz to publicly state what many of us fans had been saying for years about Cadougan's game.

Buzz must have missed the big shot he made against UConn, he did make a shot.  Got the season going on the right foot right off the bat. Junior led the team to the Big East Champioship,
give him some slack.

I love Buzz's honesty, but sometimes he does make me cringe.

But, he obviously knows what he is doing.

Fixed it for you.

Did you see Malek tweet that he met Jimmy Butler and that he was "the coolest dude ever", glad he picked yesterday to visit. Also was Wes there?

So that's why Buzz said last year that Derrick should be starting!  ;)
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I'm guessing that you never ran into Kevin O'Neill at an alumni reception.  I once heard O'Neill say that Logterman was playing like he had smoked "wacky weed".

If Vander's shot against St. John's was MU's #1 regular-season shot of 2012-13, Junior's 3 against UConn was #1B.

And, frankly, I'm not sure the order shouldn't be reversed.

Junior doesn't make that shot, we lose to UConn (unlike Vander's shot, which if missed merely would have meant OT). And if we lose to UConn, who knows how that affects the season's overall mojo?

Junior really wasn't a good enough PG for an Elite Eight team, but he obviously was able to do some things right!

Sometimes it's Buzz being honest, sometimes it's Buzz tongue in cheek taking a shot at critics, sometimes it's a combination of both. We may not always decipher which, but my guess is the players can.

Yea, it's his "bit", and it seems to work.

Sometimes I love it, because he's entertaining and his show is pretty informative (because of his honesty), but some other times it makes me cringe a little (Junior can't spell).

Oh well. It's all gravy.

Slim, I believe this photo gallery contains a picture of you, Buzz, and your Hall & Oates record.
Have some patience, FFS.
