Looks like we're more or less out

QuoteThere was a time when Tyshawn Taylor had a plan. The 6-foot-3, 160-pound point guard from St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, N.J., was going to take four-to-five official visits before putting an end to his recruitment. Coming off a visit to Virginia Tech this past weekend, the three-star prospect might be ready to decide sooner than expected.

KU and VT lead for point guard Tyshawn Taylor
"I had a real good time at Virginia Tech this weekend," said Taylor. "I had a lot of fun during my visit. I hung out with the team and just felt very comfortable. I went to the football game on Saturday and that was just crazy.

"The fans at the football game were crazy," he added. "I had never seen anything like that before until I went to the Virginia Tech football game. Everybody in the stands were jumping around and having a great time."

Taylor, the No. 104 ranked player in the class of 2008, had a plan in place before his visit to Virginia Tech took place.

Prior to leaving for Blacksburg, Taylor had planned to visit Marquette on October 5, Georgia Tech on October 12 and Virginia on October 19. Additionally; Taylor was going to take one final trip to Kansas before making his decision.

As it stands right now, Taylor, the No. 21 ranked point guard in the class, doesn't know what step he is going to take next. However, he does know that two schools currently stand atop his list.

Furthermore, several coaches are expected to stop by St. Anthony later today to watch the talented floor general workout.

"Kansas and Virginia Tech are my leaders," said Taylor. "Kansas and Virginia Tech are the teams to beat right now. I really want to take an official visit to Kansas before I decide, but nothing has been planned yet. That's something I would like to get done soon.

"It's possible that I could visit Kansas during their Midnight Madness," he added. "I'm supposed to visit Georgia Tech that weekend, but I could possibly change the visit and go see Kansas. I know a coach from Kansas is coming to my high school later today. Marquette, Georgia Tech and UVA are also coming."
