By the way, if you look under the first link...the Future 150 story, it has the following description of his game.

Let's play "Count the Cliches!!!"

"Norris is a long wiry SF who can do it all.  He is extremely fundamental in all aspects of the game.  He just knows how to win and is a coaches dream when he's on the floor.  A natural born leader on and off the court.  He can play inside and out.  He can score on all three levels and especially effective when a player his size is guarding him.  He shoots the 3-point shot with consistency and can finish above the rim on the break.  Overall Norris is exactly what every coach in the country is looking for."

1. "can do it all"
2. "knows how to win"
3. "coaches dream"
4. "natural born leader"
5. "exactly what every coach in the country is looking for"

Pakuni

I like the fact that he's not only fundamental, but extremely fundamental.

I looked back a little ways but couldn't find anything -- anyone know when MU last had a player from Alabama (if ever)?

Wasn't Nick Williams from Alabama?

Nick Williams, almost.

Looks like he has some decent athleticism, which is good to see. Sounds like a poor man's Looney. Would like to see some video of his shot/defense/handle rather than just dunks, so really have no idea how good he is yet.

Getting fundamental, traditional players could be our next step to elite status :)

Lenny Jefferson came to MU from Selma in 1959.  Talk about way back.

With Nick N on board and this offer out there, looks like Buzz is going away from the JUCOs and towards the traditionals. Must have the higher ups in his ear...

Oops! Alabama and Georgia are actually different states!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Congratulations on being the first to break out the "code word".

We're due for some whities.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

"Expected to be one of the top basketball prospects in the state for the 2014 signing class, Norris has been a standout performer going back to his eighth grade season when he earned second team All-State honors."

Spotcheck Billy

there are all-state honors for 8th graders?

8th graders can play high school varsity sports in many states, including Alabama.

Most students in Alabama don't make it out of elementary school. The high schools have to fill a varsity team somehow.

Sounds really good.  Maybe he's still growing taller.

OJ Mayo played high school basketball as a 7th grader and averaged 20 ppg.

Unfortunately, I believe that this offer indicates that Buzz and the staff are not feeling good about the prospects of getting Paul White.  Arizona seems to be in the lead.

While he's in an Alabama state of mind, I'd like to see Buzz offer Isaac Haas, a 7'1" 265 lb center from Gadsden, AL.

Another thing about Riley Norris; Butler recently offered him, as well.

I am imagining a 7-foot Isaac Hayes.
