Barring anything else happening:

Otule:6'11        Center         Sr
McKay: 6'9       PF               Jr
Gardner 6'8       Center         Sr
Taylor 6'7      F/PF               So
JWilson  6'7    F/PF               Sr
Burton 6'5      W                  Fr
Johnson 6'5    SG                 Fr
Mayo 6'3     SG                    Jr
DuWilson 6'3   PG                 Fr
Dawson  6'3   G                   Fr
DeWilson 6-1   PG                Jr

MU has enough size going forward.    All of it is upperclassmen.     IMO, pick up a JUCO combo guard and sit on the rest of the schollies for 14-15.

Need to balance out that roster with another sophomore...

I hope Buzz gets the best SG/SF he can get his hands on that is available right away..JUCO, transfer, freshman, anyone.

Use the other on the best possible traditional transfer at any position. Preferably a big that has played two years so that he'll be junior in 2014-2015 and join Steve's class.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

RushmoreAcademy

Are there any juco or transferring Wilson's?  We've got a chance at something historical here.

The JUCO's are picked over, and unless Drew Crawford decides to leave the transfers immediately available aren't too promising.  The best two, Josh Davis from Tulane and Tarik Black, are both big men who would only be available for next year when they would be part of a one year crowd at that position.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I wouldn't worry about how the classes balance out.... So much movement every year

Just call this team, The Wilsons.

SS Marquette

I like the roster. You only have 11 though. I would put Garrett Swanson in that final spot. He's the red shirt from last year and is another sophomore that has size and can shoot.

I have a strong suspicion that this is someone playing with us...

No i'm being serious! From what I have read the kid has two weight lifting records, is 6'7 and can shoot the 3pt.

Can he bench press 400lbs?

golden_eagle23

LOL^^^ I have no idea but you look like you could guns n ammo. From the video i saw it was the snatch and something else. I think if he keeps putting on pounds and can shoot he would be a big help in two years!! He has to be pretty good if he already played a lot for another d1 team as a freshman. I just think he has more to offer then a juco transfer.

Nice to know that GS is tops with the snatch.  Wonder if his second specialty is the clean and jerk.  Hey-oohhhhhh!!

On a serious note, if Buzz doesn't fill the spot, maybe he gets the schollie for next year.,

If he doesn't fill it, he will get it for sure. No reason not to. Scoop just needs to realize this and keep expectations at zero for his production unless he does something.

We lose Gardner/Otule after next season so there needs to be emphasis on getting a center with one of these scholarships to come in to practice /develop against those guys this year. Easier said than done, because it appears there is not much talent left out there.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

So who is gonna be the best "newcomer" to the team next year?  Thoughts?  I want to get excited about someone...

The way things are, there could be 7 of them. I would go with Triple J or Du. Wilson.

the good news is that though there maybe be a wrong answer or two, there is no right answer.  Agree on JJJ and DuWil, but I think it likely is McKay.  Love the optimism of the off-season.

BubbaWilliams

While Trey J, DuWill and McKay are going to be exciting to see, I'm most looking forward to Gardner. This is his team next year, and I think he's ready for it. Now, if he can improve his conditioning a little...

I think that with Juan transferring that allows for Deonte to come in and earn minutes right away behind Jamil. He was the only one who I worried about as far as playing time goes because Duane will play, Trey J will play with Vander gone, and Jameel will play because he is experienced and seems to be really good. It really seems like all of the newcomers (minus Dawson only because I know nothing about him) have the opportunity to see the court.
Bring back FFP!!!

AirPunches

If MU uses their last scholarship on Swanson, they can't take it away from him in the middle of the year and give it to a mid-year transfer, right? That would be the only reason they wouldn't give it to him I would think.

Obviously not a newcomer, but I expect a big season from Steve Taylor Jr.

Chad Frazier 6-4 PG Juco
