Transfer speculation should be a given after every season with the turnover we see.   Buzz must be selling all recruits playing time cause the bench warmers are clearing out after only a couple years.

Buzz has always gotten top marks from recruits for honesty.  When in HS most highly ranked players are confident enough to just want the chance to compete.  I'm sure that that honesty continues after players get on campus -leading to most knowing when playing time is not likely to be in their future.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

So now the question becomes what do we do with those two scholarships. Blue's was already being used for bringing in a recruit for 14, so if we have someone lined up for that is should be used for someone who is here for one year only, if the right person is available, that way it still can be used in 14. Does Black fit this description or does he have to sit out a year? Not sure if he has graduated and could take advantage of the grad school loophole.

The other one should has more options since, depending on how you look at it was either a Freshman or Sophomore that gave it up. I do not think you use it on a guard unless they are immediately eligible since if they have to sit out the incoming freshmen will be established as sophomores. I would think we would want a big we could sit and learn from Davante and Otule plus the practice time against them would be great.

McKay essentially takes the third departing players scholarship for the next 2 years.

Not sure about the schollie situation. Before all this turmoil, I thought we had 12 guys on schollie (Swanson and Flood were not) If that is right, and we are now losing 6 (Blue, Ferguson, Thomas, Anderson, Cadougan and Lockett) and have 5 guys coming in, we have two available for the upcoming season, and will have three for the following season, because Ox, Otule, and Ja. Wilson will be coming off.
Yeah, we should use one of those for the upcoming season for a big, if there are any worthwhile ones available.

Right now this would be my starting line-up/depth chart for next year:
C: Otule/Gardner/McKay
PF: Gardner/Taylor/McKay
SF: Ja. Wilson/Burton/JJJ
PG: Du. Wilson/De. Wilson/Dawson
2G: JJJ/Mayo/Du. Wilson
Hell, this musical chairs makes it hard to determine who is on first.

I think there are only two things that look pretty set right now. Otule will start at center with Gardner coming off the bench and averaging more minutes and D. Wilson will start at the point with D. Wilson backing him up. The rest is pretty wide open. Here are my thoughts on the other positions...

4: Seems like McKay and Taylor should get the lion's share. If Jamaal is ready for Jae Crowder minutes, it would really help this team. We may see a bit of Gardner at the 4 as well, but I think that will be uncommon.

3: Jamil seems like the incumbent if he returns, but if McKay can play 28-30 mpg, we could see Steve Taylor here a lot to get him on the court. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was Taylor's main position if...

2: ...Jamil slides down to Vander's role. Buzz obviously likes size, and with Wilson's handle, slashing ability, and shooting he could definitely play the 2. Further, playing the 2 would make him even more attractive to scouts while allowing Marquette to put 4 guys 6'7" or taller on the court at the same time. JJJ and Mayo will also compete for minutes here, and possibly one of them starts.

I think most of this rests on Steve Taylor and Jamaal McKay. If both are 25+ mpg players, Jamil will slide to the 2. If not, Jamil likely stays at the 3 and either Todd or Jajuan are needed to contribute immediately.

Seriously doubt Jamil slides to the 2.  His handle is too loose for that.  As it is, he seems to get away with shuffling/dragging his feet as he moves about.  As a 2, he'll get many more traveling calls.

This is pretty hard to keep up with.
We will have 3 Wilsons, a Jamil and a Jamaal and a JaJuan.
It did help that we lost a Juan and Jamal. Pretty sure we will not have any Vanders for a while, now.
Also, we will have a Devante and a Deonte

Poor Homer, trying to call a play by play next year, especially if there are 3 Wilsons in the lineup at the same time.

Not just that, but two D. Wilsons. I'm so glad most/all of our games on TV. I'd be a wreck if I had to listen to it all on the radio!

A.  He has an entire off season to tighten up his handle if this is the route they are going

2.  With him at the 2, Taylor at the 3, McKay at the 4, and Otule at the 5....that is both a nightmare match up for the other team as well as a rebounding juggernaut that I think more than makes up for the occasional turnover.....somebody put up the Warrior's Path signal to get a statistic evaluation of this statement

III.  Jamil wouldn't have to slash as much especially if De Wilson is the 1.  Jamil can run off screens and jump over his defender and leave slashing to Wilson

"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."
