they have one at Rivals too.....if u have a general Rivals account you can post & view.

Not that I'm trying to stir up the pot -- ;) -- but here is how one Duke fan sees tonight's game:

I see marquette running themselves ragidly tired and that being a disadvantage down the stretch in this game. they will not be able to just run all over this team, we are for once too athletic to be ran on all night. i think duke will win this one handily my friends, honestly more worried about a discipline team like air force than marquette. all five of our starters can handle it and run the break, they dont want to make it a track meet or they may get burned at there own game.

Gotta love Duke fans.  If you're inclined to respond, please try to represent Marquette well -- like NYWarrior did.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

NYWarrior

yeah, those guys are nuts IMHO

what's more telling in my mind is that tonight's game is largely ignored on the board.......they have more posts about Kentucky's transition defense than tonight's tilt with MU.

No respect.

Standard DUIke fan response. Be glad you have not been given access yet to their scout board. The guys on the Rivals board are pretty level in their responses. The scout clowns however have their team in the final four before the first practice each year. I hope you guys pull the shocker tonight. If the have Paulus guarding Dj he will have a FANTASTIC night. Good luck boys, I will be on my couch screaming for ya! Too bad we all have to deal with DUIkie V, his game calling will make you want to puke.

Thanks Trip!  Man, I've been waiting for this re-match since we met them in '94.  Time for some payback :)

LastWarrior

Amen on the payback for '94.  I remember being at some dive bar by the Holiday Inn for that game.  We were handling Duke and then Grant Hill dunks on Jimmy Mac which was a clear offensive foul and they go on to win the game.  That was our year... I think if we won tht game, we would have handled Purdon't & the lil' dog.

I'm still pissed now...  >:(

let every Duke fan look past us.... last time I remember this happening so distinctly was in 2003 Regional Final against Kentucky, when everyone (including myself) picked Kentucky to atleast go to the Final Four if not win it all, silly me, going against D-Wade and his triple double, still greatest college basketball performance I have seen live (didn't get to see Novak torch UCONN last year, although I ALMOST got tickets, but had no faith, silly me).

I remember being looked past in our conference opener last year.  Sorry Trip.

Maybe no love is good love.

Call it like it is bro, its a game after all. I dont take it that serious. It sucked to lose like we did though, losing is OK when your team at least puts in the effort. We just layed down and let your guys line up and take a turn on the village bike. Hopefully Calhoun shows our group of new youngsters the tape of that  one to learn from! Best of luck tonight guys. I know you can do it!

WashDCWarrior

Good luck to you guys too.  How the team looking with all those freshman?

Wow he was 100 percent wrong.  We did run a lot and Duke paid for it in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Reading the Duke board is better than listening to Chicago sports talk after a Bears loss!

That was fun. It was hard not post, but I didn't want to look like Looserville or Pitt fan. I like to hear their fans say they are short at PG. We learned that all too well. We have DC and little MO to back up our current franchise.

SoCalwarrior

I love the rants against the officiating.  Now that's funny.

C'mon, now. Nothing is better than Chicago sports talk after a Bears loss.
That said, Duke fans complaining about the officiating is like Yankee fans complaining about Red Sox spending $51 million for the rights to sign a Japanese pitcher.
Most fans over there, however, are giving MU credit for being the better team tonight.

GREAT win guys! Loved watching DUIke implode as your guards just kept going by their perimeter D. They had no answer. And that young man in the paint, Barro is a monster rebounder and a very good defender. Cant wait to see DJ torch my young Huskies again this year! Hopefully not though.

DC, to answer your question, so far we look OK. Things are rounding in to shape and by Jan this young team should be playing much better than today. Hasheem Thabeet, remember that name. He has pretty much ZERO offense as this point but seems to block almost everything that comes his way, with either hand. So we shall see. Lots of young cats to deal with so there will be lots of mistakes made and some WTF loses to go with it.

Good luck the rest of the way guys. Looks like another great season in store for you!
