Does anyone know the color combination of the navy blue road jerseys worn by MU during the George Thompson era?  It had MARQUETTE over a vertical stripe with numbers below.  Was wondering if the letting/stripe/numbers were all white, all gold or a combination?  I know the home version were white jerseys with a navy vertical stripe over the navy numbers, with the bottom half of the jersey all gold and no lettering on the jersey.  Any help would be appreciated, since I don't know of any color photo of George Thompson in an MU jersey.

I think the numbers on the photo are gold, but I'm still unsure of the MARQUETTE lettering and vertical stripe, as one or both might be white.  But the jersey in the photo is definitely the one I'm talkin' 'bout.

I think everything was in gold. Here's the home version.

Sir Lawrence

You mean horizontal stripe.
I was in grade school, but if my memory is accurate the lettering, the number and the stripe were gold.  The shorts were white and navy blue.

HORIZONTAL stripe would be correct, my bad!!  1968 would be the year.  As soon as I figure out how to insert a photo I will.

Glad to see MU Athletics just awarded Brute Force their "Lifetime Achievement" award.  Wonder if they will re-retire that jersey?

Dr. Blackheart has the home version of the jersey I'm talkin' 'bout below his ID name.

Ah yes. Brute Force was Al's first Big Time recruit, and he was a stud. A 6'2" PF who could bang down low. One of the all-time studs from the McGuire era, and man did he have them. Bo Ellis, Chones, Luke, McNeil, Earl Tatum, Lackey (the Black Swan), Lloyd Walton, Rosey, Goose Brell, Butch Lee, Dean the Dream, Crazy Toone, Brunkhorst, Sewell, Whitehead, Cobb, etc. and many I have forgotten. What a pipe line Al had. Always had a couple studs to step up each year. And Brute Force was one of the first!
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."
