In five years since leaving, Crean has done worse than MU 4 times in the tournament, and tied MU once.

What a night. MU kicks the crap out of Miama, and Crean/Indiana pee down their leg like a choking dog (did I get that right?). Seriously couldn't have scripted it any better.

MU not lucky, not over achieving...MU is good. That's it.

Victor Oladadipo was seen wearing Marquette shorts.

First post? You may want to retire now, because that is extremely high quality. Where have you been?

Litehouse

It's even better since you misspelled Oladidipo.

Hopefully this isn't as good as it gets...let's get back to the Final Four.

+1 F*ck that...A national championship is as good as it gets.

Absolutely.  One game at a time, one game at a time.

Top 5 night of my life!

Speaking to Tommy Wiseau in person constitutes one of the other 4 spots so I guess that's not saying much.......

This has played out even better than what 90% of MU fans would have wanted 5 years ago.

Hate to be a buzz kill, but I don't think IU losing was a positive for MU.

I know, I know, Crean raises the bile of most on this board to the point that seeing him suffer brings much joy to MUScoop, but hear me out. The media loves easy stories and narratives that go beneath the bball match-ups. If IU wins we would have two days of steady coverage of IU vs. MU because Crean used to coach at MU, Buzz was Crean's assistant, blah, blah, blah. Additional attention = broader recognition.

Furthermore, how much sweeter would it have been to beat Crean to get to our first final four since he took us there in 2003? I am one of those that still appreciates Crean, but even I would love to see MU stick it to the guy that walked away for a "better" gig.

I hear ya, but that coverage would have made a lot of people sick, myself included.  I can hear the spin now, "This is ultimately Tom Crean's doing as he set the table up nicely for buzz."  I really dont think it would have been as appealing as an MU fan as you think it would be.  MU would actually be cast as little brother type team to the viewing audience.  This is much better.

Lennys Tap

I would have rather played IU because right now Syracuse is a far better team.

And I hear you, but I think we'll still get the little brother treatment with Syracuse, even though we are the higher seed. I bet we hear a lot about the up and comer MU with their cute and quirky coach taking on the mighty Coach B and the powerful Orange. Like I said, the media loves an easy story.

That's a whole other story, and I completely agree.  I predicted Cuse to win by 10+ tonight, but they scare they heck out of me especially playing close to their fanbase.

It's a lot harder to sell that storyline since MU beat them this season and also ended acuse's season 2 years ago in Cleveland.  That story is done.

I guess we'll see. I thought we would get a lot more respect entering the tourney as Co-BEast champs and coming off back to back Sweet 16s, but I think that really hasn't been the case. All of our success seems to provoke a lot of back handed compliments and condescending head patting.
