Interestin domino theories out there, maybe the rumors were true from last month.  Feeling is the guy they want, Donovan, is still in tournament so they will wait to do anything until that situation settles itself.  Dixon to USC is still very hot.  Miller to Pitt?  Don't know, but maybe.

The article does not speculate on replacements, but that has been the buzz around town the last 6 weeks.

Buzz to UCLA.

And USC and Pitt.

All at the same time.

Oh, and Texas, too. Don't forget Texas. Never forget Texas.

I know Miller played at Pitt, but would he really leave Arizona to take that job?  It's a step down in a lot of ways.

Also, would Donovan really take UCLA?  I know it's UCLA, but he already turned down the NBA to stay at Florida.  If he does, I assume Florida goes after Shaka.

Pitt is a GIANT Step down from Arizona, especially since Pitt will most likely become a mid level ACC team.

UCLA may have the better name brand, but with it will come a lot of pressure from the alumni to win now. Donovan has a good thing going, you don't mess with good.

I think this would be the one to finally budge Mark Few.

brewcity77

Donovan won't leave Florida. I think he's there for life. As big as UCLA is, he's already bringing in top-10 recruiting classes, winning titles, and has the chance to go to the Final Four every year. What might worry me would be Brad Stevens. Could UCLA be big enough to get him away from Butler? He seems very happy there, but it would suck for Butler to come to the NBE without him.

MarquetteDano

Well for the blue blood jobs this is the one we don't have to worry about Buzz taking.  UCLA will not be interested and neither will Buzz.

Now the dominoes that might fall out of this.... that is a different story.

Who knows what is in his mind?  Maybe he wants to go home.  Maybe his wife doesn't like Arizona.  Maybe he doesn't get along with the AD.

OTOH, maybe you can't go home again.  Maybe he loves his players too much.

It wouldn't be out of the question that he leaves, but you are probably right.

Howland is a very good coach and will end up somewhere good for him.  Stepping back to the MWC would probably be good for him.

Plus Donovan makes $3.5M per year at Florida.  He would require a raise from that, plus enough years to guarantee the raise even if things wouldn't work out.  Don't think he's going anywhere.

I think at this point, Florida is as good, if not better job than UCLA.  Unless he wants a new challenge, I don't see why he would leave.  I mean, he's turned down Kentucky a couple times right?

My friend, a huge PITT alum with contacts says Dixon to USC is a done deal.  Dixon not happy with split from BE, was a huge backer of BE and wants no part of ACC and starting over.  He wants to go back to west coast.  No idea of who would replace, but did mention they would inquire about Miller.

We shall see.

Why in the world would Sean Miller leave Arizona for Pitt? Zona is one of the premier gigs, good pay, great fan base and nice weather. He gets along very well with Greg Byrne. Not happening.

Come-on. I don't think Donovan is leaving, but Florida is in no way shape or form better than UCLA. There are only 4 schools you could argue are (UK, UNC, Indiana, Kansas).

Superbar?  This has absolutely nothing to do with MU bball.. This opinionated speculation garbage is a waste of time.

The problem is always comparing 2 jobs from the perspective of someone that already has one of them and would be looking to move vs. an independent person that would pick between the two.  Given the choice, most people would pick UCLA.  But I don't think it's a big enough jump to pull Donovan from Florida.

Anybody ever been to Brentwood? With the cash a UCLA coach pulls down, can't imagine you'd want to be at Texas, Pitt, Florida, etc.  over the Bruins. Plus, it's still a blue blood, just needs the right leader.

Why? UCLA has chased him before. Few is not interested.

UCLA is very cheap when it comes to paying its coaches.

Rumors here are that now ends.  $5 million for Donovan to come to UCLA.
