Does the conference split create another auto bid?

I apologize if this has been addressed already but will the NCAA create another auto bid -- where the old Big East got 1, the new Big East will get 1 and the America 12 (?) will get 1. Isn't that what happened when the MWC split away from the 16-team WAC.

i assume we keep the auto bid with the name, the question is whether the NCAA creates a new auto bid for the America 12

I seem to recall hearing that both conferences will have autobids and the at large pool will be reduced by 1 team.

Yes. It does. Both conferences will meet the criteria for an autobid

The America 12 or whatever actually won't meet the criteria, but it sounds like the NCAA will make an exception.

The NCAA has said that due to the unusual circumstances surrounding realignment, both leagues will have an auto-bid right away, regardless of other factors.
