I gotta tell you dudes, and I know y'all poke fun of me partially because I've watched and supported Warrior basketball for more years than your parents are old, and that's ok, but if Marquette University ever runs Buzz out of town, they have lost all their mf'in marbles. Yes, I don't believe the "oh schucks, hick from the sticks" routine, but the rest of him is genuine. Buzz is the absolute best thing that happened to MU hoops since the hiring of Al McGuire. Given the time, he will bring the gold ball back to the Al, without a doubt.

+1. I was on campus during Al's run and Buzz is as close to that type of personality than any coach at Marquette. He has that something you can't put your finger on, but its there. Agree 100% with your comments. MU needs Buzz to lead us into the NBE.

Very interesting they played a clip of this on WTMJ news this morning and the reference to JS was conveniently edited out.  I listened to it again and it wasn't just the portion they played they definitively edited out the JS reference.

I've been with you backing the Warriors for nearly a half century. Within a year (I know, I know, I violated the "five year rule") it was clear to me that Buzz had "it". Maybe it was easier to identify since I was exposed to what "it" is for so long with Al. Agree with your thoughts 100%, Doc.

Same thing here - I started back when George Thompson was running the court. For me it was a sad day when Buzz was hired. I thought the school didn't care enough to go out and even try to get a "name" or a known up-and-comer. But after - actually during - the first year I was sold.
