Jake Thomas

Throw all of the insults at him you like.   However.   He was on the court when the run was made.   Watch him in the highlights of the last couple of plays.   He may have played 20 minutes total in the Big East.   He hit one big shot in conference.   But in the last minute of a desperate comeback he is out there making perfect defensive switches and decisions in the press.   He was only a decoy on the last play, but he still ran his route.   That is either a testament to Buzz coaching or a testament to Jake Thomas.  Little things like that are why I think Buzz is such a good coach.

Not sure if it's Davidson's defender or what but go to the deadspin thread and watch the defender on Jake (bottom corner) and also watch the defender on Cadougan (upper corner).  Junior's guy cheats down to come help, Jake's guy faceguards Jake the whole time.  Nice.

He can play over Anderson if Buzz forgets about Steve again.

2.0   The above was written by my wife.  But she knows more than me.  Played on a USA Today Super Preps Top 25 Team at St Ignatius Prep in Chicago and when given the opportunity, chose to drink DI at MU instead of playing DIII at John Carroll.

Right, and then 4 DNP-Coach's decision. Very surprising to me that he was in at all, decoy or not. I don't want to (further) promote any speculation, but Mayo (17-56, 30.4% on 3s for the season going into the game) could've played a similar (better?) decoy role than Thomas (10-36, 27.8%).
