I really like their response about expansion.  So much could happen in the next 12-18 months.  Once the dust settles some, then go and get to 12.

On expanding from 10- "We're waiting for the ACC to blow up."

From press release...

The Big East Tournament will continue to call Madison Square Garden its home, and the new conference will assume the existing long-term lease agreement that extends well into the future.

"We are thrilled that MSG will continue to serve as the official home of the Big East tournament.  In addition to being the center of the basketball universe, the Garden has served as a thrilling backdrop for so many of the Big East's most enduring memories and greatest individual achievements," said Father Harrington of St. John's University.

"Madison Square Garden has been the home of the Big East Tournament for 31 years and looks forward to continuing to host this premier college basketball event," said Joel Fisher, Executive Vice President, Sports and Arena Transformation, Madison Square Garden
.

Take that ACC!!!

Can one of the mods now update the "resources tab" lets get rid of Cuse, Pitt, etc.  add Creighton, Xavier and Butler please.

I got the vibe towards the end that the reborn BEAST feels very confident that the model where basketball programs sacrifice their needs to give football what they need is an unsustainable model and that musical chairs and conference chaos will continue all around the BEAST in those conferences that try to cater to schools that are basketball-centric and those that are football-driven.  The next few years will be entertaining.  We'll just sit back and enjoy the stability that taking our ball and going on our own has brought us.
Relax. Respect the Process.

MU also just sent out an announcement of the new Big East.

Hey Boeheim, I hear Greensboro has a really nice Motel 6. You'll love it during the ACC tournament.

Also happy that MSG Network will be involved with the new league. They always do a nice job...and it strengthens our east coast connection.

I don't think we would ponder too long....we would welcome a traditional rivalry back.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Can't wait for Screamin Gus Johnson to be back on the bball call.  No one, and I mean no one, can spark a Seton Hall/Depaul game in January like SGJ.

Norm

Gus was two years ahead of me at U of D High. Played baseball with him. Really nice guy. Glad he be announcing some BE games next year.
