I know there are plenty of opinions on the value of conference tourneys. Some say go home and rest for the dance. I really think getting to and perhaps winning the conference tourney is a big deal. There has been a few comments on the boards about the lack of respect from the media towards Marquette. The fact is we have not fared we'll in the BE tourney. respect is earned and you earn it by winning.

The nostalgia of the BE rests on the success of programs like Georgetown, Cuse, Uconn Ville etc and the epic BE tourney battles.  we have been unable to get to the Saturday Night main event. We had a good season, co champs etc.

For the program to really to get an elite level we need to have a little more success post season. We have had two straight Sweet 16 appearances and that is terrific. But hanging around New York until Saturday night brings a different level of prestige.

We have had a very fun ride this season, but it all ended a little bittersweet tonight. I have to believe many of us were secretly hoping for a nice run.  Here's hoping Buzz can get the right pieces to the puzzle to continue to build the program.

on to the madness!
