Marquette's home away from home

New York - The Golden Eagles arrived here Tuesday in advance of the Big East Tournament, but since they don't play until Thursday night they need a place to be constructive with their time.

Seriously?  Why does the paper even bother with an MU blog.  The stories are either old by the time they are put up, or completely irrelevant to much of anything.

Blah.

Financial engineers are the quant guys in business, especially upper-level finance.  They do a lot of the technical analysis, prediction of stochastic series (e.g., stock prices), analyzing high frequency data, econometrics and statistics, and quantifying risk that a business (financial firm) is exposed to.

I doubt that schools like MIT and Columbia offer degrees in this field.  I mean, maybe en route to a PhD in finance or economics, but as a terminal MA (or MS) program?  No way.

Exactly. J Lo.  Good work. Must have spoken for hours with the librarian to get the info.

It's a good thing the JS has page view limits on their articles each month; and doesn't actively waste your free articles on useless blabber ... then again maybe a financial engineer told them it was a good idea.
