He did a good job, but again, it's obvious from this thread that MU fans still don't realize how talented this MU team really is. Talent wins ball games. MU can get production from anyone any game. Georgetown was ALL Otto Porter. Perhaps the other Coaches realized the error of their ways as the season went on picking MU for 7th and realizing just how talented they are. MU is overall more talented than is Georgetown. I can see why, if that is their thinking that JTIII would win it. I still think Buzz deserves it, but when you look at it from this perspective, I can understand why he wouldn't.

Porter is definitely one of the top National POY candidates but to say that Gtown was all Porter is just wrong. Whitington was putting up 12 and 7 before his suspension. Starks put up 14 points and 3 assists per game in conference play.  Even Smith-Rivera came on strong late in the season and put up 14-4-2 on 46% shooting in the last 14 games.

This is not a knock on Porter. He's had a great season, but he definitely hasn't done it alone.

The fact that Mr. Michael rarely reports positive news just for the heck of it makes me actually believe this. Unless he's just messing with us all.
He's messing with us.  Gives him a chance to appear to be sympathetic to MU BB.  If Buzz doesn't get it, he can then gleefully emphasize how little we are respected. If Buzz does get it, he can appear to be prescient.

I don't think it was really a story to break, unless he had it before the all conference teams were named. Jae was the only unanimous first teamer last year, just like Porter this year.

Tell that to West Virginia fans ;D

How many McDonalds All American players does Gtown have compared to us?

JT3 wins the award according to twitter reports.

Otto played in either the McDonald's game or the Jordan game (can't remember which). That's it.

Buzz got screwed...without Porter, Georgetown is 12-4 or 11-5.

Yes, because this is what solid, veteran, legitimate U.S. newspaper journalists do all the time: purposely report something on Monday with the full intent to look foolish on Tuesday.

Jeesh. Even when folks on this board aren't shooting the messenger they're still shooting the messenger.

Posting articles like that (the one saying buzz is expected to win) take away from his credentials as a "solid" journalist. Sure, it's not fair that people can post erroneous notions on twitter and everyone forgets, but newspapers are held to a different standard, or should be. He reported something from a source that wasn't legit, he's not trying to look bad on purpose, but nonetheless he looks bad.

0 Georgetown has 0 McDonald's All Americans

Otto did play in the Jordan brand game.

Both Marquette and Georgetown have 5 RSCI top 100 players.

Don't buy that argument.  Where would MU be without Blue?  or Gardner?  JT3 certainly gets credit for recruiting and coaching up Porter.  Also, your math is screwy...12-4 (16 games) or 11-5 (17 games)...lol.
