Crazy season for sure. Who knows maybe we crack top ten in next couple of weeks. You really watch closely this year to know who is ranked where. Must give credit to MU because unlike some teams we have been fairly steady last few weeks.

MSU loses 3 in a row and are still a top 10 team?  Wow.. :o

Does anyone think the Zags have to win their conference tournament to still get a #1 seed in the tournament?

Absolutely. Some schools (see MSU above) get every benefit of the doubt. Others can't afford a single slip up. Gonzaga would fit in this category.

That and the fact that if an ACC/Big? team that was in line for a #1 seed slipped an lost in their conference tourney, presumably it would be against a quality opponent, which would hurt them less. If the Zags slip up in their conference tourney, it likely would be against a less than quality opponent, which would hurt them more.

Ohio State is 14, Marquette is 15, both with identical 21-7 records.  One of us should have an eighth loss, though.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I believe Ohio State has only beaten 2 ranked teams. I would be more angry about them being ranked higher than us if those 2 teams were not #2 and #4 at the time of the victories. I still feel like we should be higher than them but we are Marquette and they are Ohio State so it is what it is.

The blue mountains are of themselves blue mountains

The white clouds are of themselves white clouds

A man can touch the blue mountain

The white cloud is a chimera

Ohio State is the mountain they have climbed. Its dirt clings to their shoes. It stands there before them still.

Marquette is the cloud they have seen but not held. It has drifted away. No longer is it in their world.

MU #15 and wins at Rutgers and @SJU.  Never take these games for granted but doable then ...

#14 tOSU @IU Tuesday night
#13 Okla State at home to #9 KSU Wednesday night
#12 New Mexico @ Nevada and @AF
#11 Florida @Kentucky Saturday
#10 Mich State home against Bucky Wednesday night ...

I see lots of opportunity for teams ahead of us to lose this week.  Could we be #12 or #13 next week and looking at a 3 seed for the NCAA tourney going into the BE tourney?

Answer, yes ... so long as we do not choke this week.  If we do, the mods can delete this post.

Louisville 0-1
Florida 0-1
Syracuse 1-0
Pittsburgh 2-0
Wisconsin 1-0
Notre Dame 1-0

Why shouldn't they be? To say they don't deserve that ranking means you have to come up with the teams that should be ranked ahead of them. Outside of Florida, I don't think I  see any, and in fact, I don't see any reason Kansas State should be ahead of them.

I wish I didn't watch that MU/Florida game. I know we are a totally different team now IMHO, but man, that beat-down just won't leave my mind and I just know I'm going to put Florida in the Final Four regardless of what bracket they are in.

I feel the exact same way.
Of course, I just recently got over the way Vanderbilt whipped us at home 25 games ago.

At the minimum. I think they have to go back and improve their strength of schedule, too. They don't deserve a 1-seed even if they win out.

Cincy was our last loss at home, but I had the privilege of being at both games.

Cincy was our last Big East loss at home, but the last home loss was Vandy in December 2011.

15 seems pretty dead-on. Hard to quibble with any team ranked ahead of us today.

Not that it matters, but the asst SIDs who vote in the coaches' poll have us 17th ... behind Syracuse and St. Louis.

I think they are a Top 8-15 team. The Izzo Brand inflates their standing, as always.

This is a funny year. A Top 20 team can beat anybody and lose to anybody this season. Just bizarre the number of upsets. It's good for the game, though. Reinforces why it is so much better than the NBA.
