Great song choice towards the end of the 2nd half.  A nice send off to our former conference brethren.

Very funny. But if we don't regularly play ND, I'll really miss the rivalry. This game was the 117th meeting between Marquette and Notre Dame. We should play each other.

Agree, the sound/marketing people were awesome this season.  Between the bat game & the big heads, they were very clever this year.

Maybe they were referring to ND joining the new Big East for a single season.    ND and Louisville are the two teams I want MU to find a way to schedule.

Agree  100% This is a series we need to continue. When I was at Marquette this game, more than any other, energized the community. Digger, Shumate, Brokaw, Dantley, Laimbeer, Flowers, Tripucka, Woolridge, Hanzlik, Paxson. An 0-5 UND team coming into the Arena and ending Al's 88 game streak. Laimbeer getting into it with Marquardt. Doc's last second heave. Shame to see it go away.

You forgot Myron Schukman.

You forgot Myron Schukman.

And Tom Sluby.

Small world story - I met Myron Schuckman in Jakarta. He was with Koch Industries in Wichita and they were looking at some mining operations in Indonesia as part of the World Bank-IMF asset transfer from the Soharto's. One of the family had extensive sulfur and coal holdings that had been seized. Schuckman was part of the team that came to bid on some of those mining ops. It was during dinner that his UND basketball past came up so we had a fairly spirited conversation. Never saw him again but Koch did bid on some of the assets.

I believe are no.1 on ND list of teams played.

For us ...

UW 120
ND 118 (including today)
DeP 113

Too much history not to continue with ND

I wouldn't have guessed that ND was that close to UW. If we play ND in the Big East tourney, and then ND is in the new Big East for a year and we play them twice in '14, ND will be MU's most frequent opponent at the end of next season.

To me Marquette basketball is us versus Notre Dame and DePaul and Madison and then everyone else.
