With the "new" Big East seemingly going to sign with the new Fox Sports networks we're also losing ESPN coverage. This, of course, leads to no Marquette games on ESPN3/WatchESPN, right? So does anyone know if there will be any streaming options for the new network?

Been chatted about it before, basically unsure at the moment, but methinks SOME kind of online interface will be built.

For me, this would be the only bad news about joining a new conference - if there wasn't an online streaming option/replay option. I absolutely love having the ability to stream most of our games and conference games, plus watching replay if I can't get it live.  From a person with no cable...

Totally depends on the deal.  Big East games currently are on MSG, SNY, MASN but also on ESPN and CBS. 

Big Ten games on the BTN, ESPN, and CBS.  Really depends on the rights and how they are bundled up.  Fox needs content for their new transitioned networks, so they'll want as much inventory as they can get.

Benny might even have to subscribe to television again to see his Warriors play.

They tried this last time (two years ago), and that's why CBS partnered with Turner to bolster their bid which they ultimately won again.  We were involved as well since we were the first ones to put multiple games on at one time...we did that deal with Mike Aresco at CBS. 

Now that having 4 games on at once is the norm, you need the ability to deliver that to the fans which means multiple networks.  FOX could do it because of their national networks (FX, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, FOX national), but with CBS having the incumbancy I would like their chances moving forward. 

CBS doesn't want to lose the Masters, the NCAA tournament, SEC football and a few others things...that is the bread and butter.

NFL, MLB, BCS, Daytona/NASCAR...I guess I'd be surprised if they didn't try. That's like 10 years out though, isn't it?

Source today indicated that the plan is for Fox to sell rights to some games to ESPN  and, perhaps, CBS.

I've gone back to antenna TV and netflix/apple tv.  We really like it, except for no ESPN.

I don't have cable either, and ESPN3 has been sporadic this year.  Sometimes games were available, and sometimes they required a log-in from your cable company to watch games.  Besides the TWC32 black-outs, ESPN3 was blocking games on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU as well.

It depends on your internet provider--if your internet is through a company that subscribes to ESPN3, then you can get it, regardless of whether you have cable or not.  Usually when you try to stream a game, it will ask for which provider you have.

Anyone know how will this deal affect local ESPN 540?  I think am 920 which now carries Jay Mohr-(who is great BTW) recently changed to Fox Sports.

540 currently carries everything that is MU and Buzz ( 2 1/2 hr pre-games, Buzz hour, games, post-games) and doesn't hate on the above mentioned. I think that would all change, right?

Does Homer still do the games being an employee of ESPN?

1. You "borrow" a login from a buddy who is a TW, Xfinity, or Brighthouse subscriber and watch everything on WatchESPN.com.

4. Go to a nearby Sports Bar, drink some IPA and slip the bar tender a $20 to put the Marquette game on the Big Screen. It works. I've done it.

I believe radio rights are negotiated separately. It is not a huge market for radio but just look at other sports on ESPN, they broadcast the radio coverage of a lot of NFL games but only have broadcast rights to MNF. Out here in DC ESPN affiliates do the Redskins and Ravens games and unfortunately on Monday mornings a local Redskins program takes place of Mike & Mike.

If FOX has an extensive enough radio property, not sure if they do, maybe they make a play for that as well, but I would expect little change in who carries radio broadcasts now if they do not.

IF the game is on national tv, but your internet company is a subscriber to Watch Espn then you are able to use the watch espn app to view the game on Espn, Espn2 or EspnU.  If your internet company isn't then you are out of luck. 
Marquette should be one of the premier teams in the NEW Big East, therefore hopefully most of our conference games will be broadcast nation wide on foxsports1 or 2.

I also wish I could get more food quality internet streams Internationally as well when necessary.

I don't know if they would, maybe they would bump Fox Sports 1 down to basic cable, but we have had several games on ESPN U this season and in most areas ESPN requires a package above basic cable. I could easily see them keeping Fox Sports 2 as a channel you have to pay more to get.
