Everyone is talking about them.  Mission accomplished from a marketing standpoint.

We're talking cause they are UG-GOO-LEE. Mission not accomplished from a sales standpoint .

Adidas makes really crappy jerseys every year.

I don't even think 15 year olds will like these.

KenoshaWarrior

All of you were wrong.  Just polled 30 freshman at Racine Park HS in my Science Class about the jerseys and only 5 said that they were ugly.  25 thought they were awesome.

I sent that picture to a senior VP at ESPN earlier this morning who happens to be an alum of one of those schools.  As he said, "what on earthy is Adidas doing...a travesty for our school...coach XXXXX should refuse to wear them, regardless of what the contract says"

He is a senior VP at ESPN he is not a fashion consultant, nor is he an urban 14 year old so just cause you dropped that big fancy name on all of us please remember that the guy is probably 50 and has no clue what a 15 year old is interested in.

You got 30 kids at Park to show up for a science class?  You must be a hellava teacher.

15 year olds don't have the kwan to buy these stupid things.  So they shouldn't be the target demographic.

Maybe Lennay Kekua helped design Notre Dame's jersey

They have parents though. 15 year olds can't afford Playstation 4s either.

Les Nessman

Those are befuddling. I can't begin to wrap my head around the design. Did they have two different teams do the shorts and the jerseys?

aquaflage is really popular right now

As soon as someone can come up with a texting abbreviation for aquaflage it should go viral.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Widely panned today on sites like Yahoo, ESPN, etc.  People are allowed to have opinions on this....I'm curious what actual 15 year olds say.  I'll be asking my 14 year old tonight, though he isn't 15 yet so he may dig them.   :-\

Mockery online of new uniforms  http://mashable.com/2013/02/28/new-adidas-basketball-uniforms/   I'm guessing 15 year olds don't want to be mocked

Dont be too impressed only 20 showed up for that class, the other 10 were students taking a make up test that they have been putting off for 3 whole weeks.

Today during 1st hour I had a total of 8 students out of 20 in a basic level freshman science class.  So yea you win some you lose some.

ND's unis are horrible, but at least they avoided the sleeves.  Glad we are not an Adidas team.

Decided to do the same poll again with a different class.  This time i polled 12 boys and one girl.

The demographics were all 14-15 years old.   5 black, 3 white, 4 hispanic

Once again the first reaction they had when i showed the screen shot was

"THOSEEE ARE COOOLLLLLLDDDDDDDD"
"SWAGGED OUT"
"THAT ND ONE GO HARD AS A MUTHA"

These are actual reactions.   The great part is that i am currently teaching this class about the Bias that can occur in science results, So i just told them that sometimes when you poll one group of different ages, races etc, you can get a different result.

FYI:  When I asked the students the following question....If you were a great basketball player and had to chose to chose a school based on a uniform how important is it.  They all said it would be very important.

The lesson
Flashy sells, Different sells

Addidas did their research and realized that the young demo loves these brand new jerseys so they came out with them.

When i showed them "classic Unis" like Indiana they all said they were boring.  The only two classic uni's they liked were UCLA and UNC

KenoshaWarrior

It turns out they actually liked them all but the Notre Dame jersey.  The color didnt work with the stripes

MUMonster03

They are all hideous but some are a little better than others. I don't know what color ND was trying to use on those, I hope to god they save them for the tournament and we don't have to see those ugly things tomorrow.

The ones with the white in the shorts are the worst, Louisvile and Baylor are slightly better but still terrible.

MUMonster03

Had to dig this back up after seeing Cincinnati play today. The shorts look even worse on a TV camera.
