GTown is playing better than anyone in the conference right now.  They've added the ability to score on top of their already great D.  UConn was very lucky to get to OT.  But they absolutely melted down in the final minute of Double OT.  Darn shame.  Very rare that I would cheer for them over a C7 but tonight was a big opportunity for MU.

Nova is a tournament-caliber team. Tough to beat tournament-caliber teams in their gyms.

True. But UCONN is a tournament-caliber team too, even if they are ineligible.

So if Georgetown loses a game or 2 and we win out, will we also deserve it? Or will you somehow denigrate our accomplishment?

If Marquette is somehow able to over take Georgetown and Louisville this last week for the title then of course they will deserve it because that would be a monumental mountain to climb.

MU doesn't have to pass Louisville nor Georgetown.  In the Big East (like the B1G), everyone in first counts as Big East champions.

In other words, MU wins out and Georgetown loses (Nova or to Rutgers or Cuse) and MU will big Big East Champion as well.

Blech...Co-Champions. That's like playing to a tie in a specific sport. It's like kissing your sister. I could only get mildly excited about a co- championship.

I said it before...with the horseshoe GT has up their ass, they ain't losing again in the BE, this proves it. What a f'n nut punch this game was. Up 7 with 2:00 to go and lose?? This is why losing to Nova is going to sting bad at the end of the year.

GT was up 5 with about 25 secs left in regulation and let UConn tie it. Stuff happens.

True. Outright is always best but joint won't be frowned upon.

Even still, it will be monumental to win out and have Louisville and Georgetown lose.

Louisville wouldn't have to lose if we win out.

If they are champions outright or co champions, either one would be fantastic.  Champions either way.

wow. aren't you a terrible fan... I noticed you went absolutely berserk after we lost to Nova, but were nowhere to be found after we knocked off Cuse. Crazy how that happened...

I would go nuts if I was a UCONN fan.  Boatright and Shabazz (love that name) can be so incredibly infuriating to watch.  They don't involve other players, jack up some crazy street ball shots, and compete for attention.  Never have been a fan of Boatright, and wouldn't be surprised if his teammates weren't either.

Tuuuuuurrible collapse for the Huskies.

Re-posted from another thread.

Credit Georgetown, UConn had this game won in the second OT and blew it. Contrast Otto Porter calmly driving right down the lane for the game-winner with Boatright taking a terrible shot instead of passing to one of TWO open teammates under the basket and Napier taking a horrible shot at the end of the second OT with three guys guarding him.

ChicosBailBonds

Why is it a terrible collapse by Uconn but not an equally terrible collapse by G'Town?  They were up 5 points with what, 11 seconds left and were forced to OT.  They gave up a layup.  Missed the front end of a free throw and then gave up a 3 pointer to tie, then turned it over again and UCONN got another shot to win....all in the last 11 seconds.

Don't forget with 4+ minutes to go they were up 12.  If anyone blew this game, it was G'Town, but they managed to get it back.

For an outright title, Louisville would have to lose. They stand at 11-4 just like Marquette. But asking Hoyas to collapse is a tall order.

Rrrrrrrrriiiiiiight..... agreed....... but how does that detract from my point that it's stupid to whine about the @Nova loss when it just took Georgetown 2OT & Cuse lost @UConn? Or are we agreeing that it's tough to beat tournament-caliber teams in their own gym? I guess I'm confused.

MUfan12

Hopefully, MU woke Cuse up and they win out.

Even though it seems that Georgetown is unbeatable at the moment, I still think 3 wins gets at least a share of the title.

People were saying that Uconn blew it, but G'Town equally blew it.  If G'Town had lost that game, I have a feeling it wouldn't be presented as a GTown blowing it, but a great Uconn come from behind victory.  Nothing contrarian about it, just pointing out the difference in approach when both teams "blew it".

Georgetown losing means they blew it. They did not. UCONN losing means they blew it. They did. Why try to make something so simple and obvious into some kind of defense against imagined Georgetown haters?

Banner if co-champions?

You put this in teal but yes, there should be a banner for co-champions.
