Let's be real, that board is exactly what Scoop is when Marquette loses.

QuoteAgreed.

He also has probably 40 pounds on Baye and James, who stood no chance of boxing out that wooley mammoth.

I spat out my water reading that. :D

They, apparently, have forgotten how many of those free throws we took at the end when they were fouling us to stop the clock.  Gonna' have to review the tape.

AirPunches

They would love the physical play if their team wasn't the one getting bullied. Seems like the fans are happy they are headed to the ACC because teams are starting to figure out that if you zone Syracuse, you will slow them down. Don't they say that teams that play zone don't like to be zoned against?

jficke13

I also like the reasoning: take away the foul shots and cuse wins handily.

This reasoning sort of overlooks the fact that many of those free throw points would be replaced by layup points.

That thread is like a Davante Gardner Celebrity Roast!  My fave:

QuoteFirst, the jerk in me wants to say that I've never seen a sports bra so cleverly designed to look like a basketball jersey.

Second, I'd like to say that I would never say that to his face.
Have some patience, FFS.

Very true, but not true enough to make me not enjoy it.

Especially should there be a loss when the opponent shoots 35 free throws to MU's seven.
(Yes, there was good reason for last night's free throw disparity, but good reason rarely comes into play in the hours after a loss)

The tune is the same, just the lyrics and singers have changed.     And this board generally shouts down anyone who tries to exclusively blame the officiating.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

Nah, this board goes more of the way of...

Junior shouldn't be playing
Trent Lockett sucks
We suck
Were a NIT team
Buzz is leaving for Texas since we suck so bad.
I can't wait until next year
Etc. Pick your favorite

Generally we don't really blame the refs or call a conspiracy theory. People are much to preoccupied on how bad we are.

Coleman

That board is what you'd expect from any board of fans who care passionately about their team.

Not much to see here...

Speaking of syracuse fans. The parents and family right behind the syracuse bench by three student section were extremely obnoxious as well. Needless to say I had a lot of fun talking to them after we won. Topics included, Micahel Carter-Williams bathrobe and the imminent demise of the ACC.

Yup we are way busy discussing our faults of losing on national TV than thinking of conspiracy theories.

I really liked the swipe at Buzz:

"Gimme Roy Williams and not some 3 stooges extra"
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Of course most here would react the same ... AND blame Junior, Jamil, Buzz, etc.

Syracuse fans can be forgiven for not knowing that 16 of MU's attempts came in the final 3:37 when Syracuse was desperate and started hacking every time we got the ball. They also can be forgiven for wondering how a 300-pound guy who can't jump and looks like he's going in slow motion can get every call.

They can be forgiven ... but it's still not going to do anything to turn the game around. Go whine to the ACC, Orangedopes.

I thought the officiating was preferential to syracuse in the first half, and pretty even in the second.

The one thing BE officials have done, more so than in the past, is let them play.  If you don't leave the court with bruises, you weren't in the game.  There hasn't been a BE game that I've watch this year where there weren't a lot of non-calls.

But they have been consistent about it.

And, just like Scoop, they even have a comment ripping their point guard and wishing someone else could play the position while he sits!

robmufan

the one thing i point to is the fact we drove the ball, got it inside, played in the paint.  They basically took jump shots, and when you take jump shots a majority of the time you aren't going to the free throw line.
