He violently swung his elbow at the head of another player after the jump ball was called (dead ball), absolutely right call there.

The rule is designed to prevent head trauma and injuries. It is the right call per the letter of the law, if you ask me.

I may not like it, but if roles were reversed I would be screaming for an ejection.

Ox will learn from that one, he did hit him on initial elbow swing but then the guy flopped to ground making it look alot worse

Flopped?  Kid got jacked by an elbow from Ox; you try taking one of those.

Does anybody know where the Vander haters post these days?  Kid is getting it figured out

Nobody has more than four points aside from Vander.  Think he's important to us?

Flagrant foul calls also come with a 10 minute delay.  Not sure why officials can't spend 15 seconds looking at a monitor and make a call.

Markusquette

Nah definitely flagrant two...sucks but good to learn from.

klyrish

Glad we're still chucking up the 3. Especially Lockett.

Fair point, just a simple disagreement.  Just judging that as a spectator I don't think a player should be kicked out.  Ron artest has done worse(elbow to james harden)

RideMyBuycks

How can that play be the same as throwing a punch to someone's chops?

He didn't swing his elbow AT the guy's head. Ox wasn't even looking at the guy, so I highly doubt he knew where he was aiming that beefy bow of his

OK, the two Wilsons in the game and USF has five straight.

J. Wilson has to step up now that DG out.

MattyWarrior

Time for Jamil to take charge and drive to the hoop, mix it up..

Does this hurt Davante's chances to play at Louisville?

Does anyone know the answer here? In high school, at least in Indiana, players w a flagrant 2 must sit out next game. College rule?

Intent doesn't matter.

MUMountin

When was the last time that we had anyone (player or coach) ejected?  I can't even remember a bench T in the Buzz era.

Right now, he would not be allowed to play. Would need to review it to have it downgraded to flagrant 1

Now THAT would be tragic.

If Davante does have to sit out against Louisville i have a feeling that will be SJ's breakout game. That being said i would still much rather have ox

Norm

Dumb TO by Cadougan and then dumb foul by Lockett.

Are you 100% sure the whistle had been blown far enough ahead for Gardner's elbow not to make contact.

I thought it was nearly simultaneous.

Can someone tell me how Lockett averaged 13 points last year. His scoring ability looks awful.

How many tourney teams were there from the PAC-12 again?

Agreed. He has flashes where it looks like he's got a lot of potential, but overall he's been pretty disappointing

4th and State

What a terrible rule.  Has a guy hanging on his back, accidentally hits him in the head and it gets treated the he blatantly took a cheap shot...what a joke.
