OK, this I don't get.

QuoteTodd Mayo owes the bat a nice bag of insects. With all the attention on the bat, not all that many picked up on the fact that he was benched for the game.

Why would he mention that? (aside from the hiroshimas out there)  But did Todd do something to really get under Hunt's skin?

I'm tiring of Hunt mentioning when it's not appropriate.  He already covered that Mayo didn't play in an appropriate game article.  Doesn't need to regurgitate it in an article about Onochie the Bat.

Its clear hes got something out for the guy, like every article he writes has a jab toward Todd. Oh well, gotta love people who are mature.

At my son's game today the parents were talking about it.  It was rather funny...I had my MU gear on and they were saying "wasn't that the bat game"?  Had some good conversations with people "where is Marquette", yada, yada.

Found out one of the parents daughters plays softball at DePaul as well.

How does she like working under Purnell?

Marquette - that's in Michigan, right?  Typical left coast view

DoggyDaddy

Bradley Center Bat is nearing icon status and as such, needs a fitting name (see: Name the Bat category).
As far as anyone knows Buzzy (my favorite name) is still at large and may reappear at anytime.
The MU faithful need to carefully protect this precious little friend from above.

Dude, that's what just about everyone in Colorado says, too. EVEN THE PEOPLE FROM MICHIGAN. It's kinda infuriating.

ESPECIALLY the people from Michigan.   Oy.  Unless they (A) went to or have children going to college at a Catholic University, or (B) are basketball fans.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

People in MI ask the same question every single time: "It's really cold up there uh?" I always respond by saying: "yeah it's pretty cold in Milwaukee" and then I explain that MU is in MKE and they are just dumb.
Bring back FFP!!!

Now, whenever someone says, "Oh, Michigan! I'm from Michigan!" or "Michigan, right?" I just shake my head and walk past them. They've blown any chance at me ever having an ounce of respect for them.

You're giving a LOT of credit that people out here even know there is a Marquette in Michigan...or for that matter, there is a Michigan.  I wish I was kidding.

Out here on the right coast, my brother and I always heard "we saw you, Marquette, Michigan, on the Weather Channel map."  We always had to politely explain we were in Milwaukee, WI which usually prompted, "Oh, It's cold out there, isn't it?"  Which yielded our explanation that the weather in Milwaukee is identical to Connecticut and you're thinking of Green Bay.

Did they not think weather in Marquette, MI was cold?

Speaking of the Bradley Center, i was at the SFU game and the crowd was pretty quite/lame except for the students. That also seemed to be the case when watching the Seton Hall and Providence games on TV, except for the bat incidence which woke up many of the folks sitting on their hands all game long.

Aughnanure

First time I ever flew to Marquette to visit I almost ended up flying to Marquette, MI.
