When we're talkin' Crean, it has nothin' to do with him leavin. Luckily, he bolted. Here's a life lesson-----money talks and bullsheet walks.

I heard he's getting 4 years and 48 million.  Even with the biggest booster in college football, i don't think Phil Knight is going to pay Chip that much.  Oregon is much bigger than chip, not the other way around.  They'll be fine.

$12 million a year for a NFL coach?  I believe it when I see it.

Agreed... hard to believe it'll be that much but after being rejected initially by Chip and Kelly at ND and I believe one other, Philly was probably getting desparate and might have unloaded the Brinks truck.

Agreed. Belichick is currently the highest paid coach in pro sports at $7.5M (as of May). A college guy with no titles coming to the NFL and making 60% more than that? Doesn't sound likely.

In 2006, this guy was still the offensive coordinator at New Hampshire.

Heard 5 years at 6 Million a year. No way 12 M.

Mortensen said above 6 million.  12 is out of the question, you guys were right.

Chip is leaving my ducks apparently, what a f***in slime ball.  Worse than Crean.

Just curious how he is a slimeball?  Because he is taking an opportunity to try his talents at the highest level for alot of money.  He never publicly stated he was coming back to Oregon, it was what was reported by the media.  There wasn't any Nick Saban-esque "I will not be the next Eagles coach".

Listen, I'm bummed cause Oregon is my favorite team to watch and I really like what he has done there.  But I don't think its fair to label every coach a scumbag just because they take a bigger job.  Leave that kind of wanton judgment to hacks like Gregg Easterbrook.

If Buzz leaves for the NBA, I will be puzzled and disappointed, but I won't be able to begrudge him the opportunity.

So long, punting from your opponent's 40.  So long, field goals on 4th and goal from the 2.  So long, electing to receive in OT.  The NFL is going to get turned upside down... it's going to drive old men - who think they know proper football strategy - cRazY.

Godspeed, Chip Kelly.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

The question is whether is offense will work in the NFL.   Spurrier couldn't be stopped at Florida, but his offense did not translate to the NFL.   You are seeing more coaches use some form of hurry-up in their base offense, (Denver, New England) but it isn't clear if it can be done for an entire game.
