If this isn't over-hype then I don't know what is. Not saying he's not going to be a great college player. He just isn't a world-beater.

Where's the overhype there?  They just say greatest since LeBron, not greater than LeBron.  Also, I'm pretty sure you have to wait 5 years before judging anything.

Fair enough. But the posts are off the rservation regarding Parker. Again, feed me overrated guys like Parker every season and I don't care if we play in Horizon league and Wardle is our coach.

Everyone knows about Looney and he will be recruited by similar schools as Parker. Would love to see the praise Parker would have received if he had picked MU.

His ranking would not have been affteced if he chose MU, just like it wouldn't have been if he chose BYU.

My point is that Jabari Parker has been extremely highly regarded by dozens of HS Recruiting analysts for the last four years and has received a ton of national attention as well.  I'm just saying you don't see the same praise/attention from Looney and since I don't watch either of these guys on a reugalr basis I'll take the recruiting analysts opinions.

Not saying Looney won't be great, I'd kill for him to go to MU, it just seems like Parker is on a different level.

Come on, you have to be better than that. I didn't say I wouldn't have loved for Parker to come to MU. My whole point is that it is unfair to slap a kid's picture on the cover of SI with a comparison to LeBron James. Maybe he does become a HOF NBA player (I doubt it), but its unrealistic to make such comparisons and hype up a 17 year old kid in that way.

Seems like a good kid and a fine player, but he's not even at the top of the 2013 class. All the experts believe Wiggins is the clear cut #1.

Kid is incredibly overrated.

Wegz He has more talent in his fingernail than you do in your entire being. Hit the weight room son! Would it kill ya to say something nice about someone.

Why do they always have to bring faith into it? Give credit where credit is due. God didn't give this kid his abilities. Endless hours in the gym did. It's great to see a Chicago kid do well but, in my opinion this Faith will hinder this kids ability to be the best.

So the only thing preventing Jabari Parker from being "the best" is that he's a devout Mormon?

Is this another one of warthog's lame personalities?  Cause if it is, I'm getting a little tired of this sh*t.

Parker should have gone to MU.

Ive watched Looney twice this year live, and Burrell actually played better than him both times. Looney did not impress me as much as he has been hyped

The thing that makes Looney so good is that he doesn't stand out. He's level headed, he's not all about himself, he's not flashy, he's not talking trash, he's not complaining to the refs or his teammates or his coaches. He just quietly goes about his business and all of a sudden he has 25, 15, and 8 blocks. It's absurd. He's as much of the real deal as you will find in Wisconsin. Extremely smooth, well balanced game. He doesn't SEEM to live up to the hype because he doesn't ACT like one of the prima donnas looking to get his. Which is why he's going to be a big time star.

Really, really decent kid. But not even the best player in Chicago.

I hope that doesn't sound critical because he's a great talent. Good luck Jabari!

Careful, on this board any statement about how the media attention on Parker may be over the top is likely to get you called illogical, "off the reservation", and willing to accept Horizon-league recruits over top 100 guys.
