Next question is where will the conference tourney be if it's moved from MSG?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

We should join the SEC.

Somewhere on the White River might be nice

No matter what happens I would rather be in a basketball first league than subject to more football BS.

Hypothetical question- would we rather a bball first league or the SEC or Big 10?

Woud either conference want us?  That answer is NO! so I would rather be in a basketball first conference than the Big 12, or Pac 10.

Oh for sure, this was a totally hypothetical question based on the idea of are we better off bball only or an extremely stable, good, hybrid conference?

1)  hybrid leaguses don't work (re - see Big East)

2)  No way Big 10 or SEC wants MU

Again, this was totally hypothetical.  I am very well aware that none of the major conferences want us  =p

I don't accept #1 above.  If the Big East had better football (sadly, read that as more money) where the teams weren't constantly looking for greener pastures, it could have worked just fine.  Put a couple basketball schools in the Big 10 and the teams still aren't going anywhere because there's nowhere more lucrative to be.  #2 is a no-brainer.

I think the hybrid failed in the big east because the power was near equal between the basketball and the football schools. If MU were to go to one of the power conferences with another non football school for instance, i don't think it would ruin the league. MU would just have to accept that they wouldn't be the ones calling the shots or have a say in anything.

Did I miss conversation on this?  The USA today article states to have the 2/3 vote that 2 o the teams need to be football schools????   This puts a big dent in the negotiations that the 7 have to get the name, etc.....  Did I miss something?
