If we stop at 8 members we could be the Celib8.
It wouldn't be accurate.

Neither is any other conference name.  I thought that was the point.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Next question is where will the conference tourney be if it's moved from MSG?

My opinion...

1) Keep MSG. Best option as it's the "World's Most Famous Arena" and a guaranteed trip to New York is a selling point for recruits.
2) Atlantis (Or Cancun, Puerto Rico, etc). I know it seems to make no sense, but offering a legitimate vacation destination for all conference fans once a year would be tons of fun. Even if your team fares poorly, you have the sun and sand.
3) Verizon Center in DC. Having Georgetown host every year is no worse than St. John's, and it's our next most major venue.

I'd love to find a way to have it in Brooklyn. I know the A10 had an agreement there, but if the C7 nabs its best teams, I wonder how long that would last.

Fixed.

3) United Center in Chicago. Having DePaul host every year is no worse than St. John's, Chicago is better, more accessible city than D.C., it's our second largest market and more centrally located for most potential conference members.

MSG represents basketball, legacy, and big city.
This conference should do the same.

I shudder at the thought of playing in that stupid hotel ballroom.
Edit: Forgot to mention that we will never fill a decent-sized arena anywhere tropical.

We'd have to fight the B1G for it as they have about half their conference tourneys there. Not worth the effort, in my opinion. I still think a tropical destination trumps anywhere that's not MSG. Barclays might be on par with that, but I think having a guaranteed monster Spring Break opportunity every year is pretty cool.

New order

1.) MSG

IF MSG becomes the nesting place for a Godzilla-like creature we can explore the following options:

4302.) Barclays
4303.) Chicago/DC alternating years
4304.) Vegas. I think having great basketball teams in Vegas would be incredible. Possible Vegas/Chicago/DC alternating if Gonzaga joins up.
4305.) Exotic location. Warm location, not On The Border ZFB.

GOO

Chicago, if we can't keep MSG.  The proposed new arena at McCormick Center for DePaul.

True, but that's only the case through 2015 (2013 and 2015 will be in Chicago). What happens after that hasn't been decided. Methinks Mr. Reinsdorf and Mr. Wirtz would be happy to take the guarantee of this conference every year than the possibility of the Big 10 every other year.

We could have the conference tourney on the deck of a carrier in Charleston harbor.....ooooooooh.    Maybe not.

You forgot about the last city on the list.

How about an aircraft carrier?  There has got to be one available in March somewhere.

Pac-12 already grabbed Vegas for their tourney. Not sure for how many years.

If MSG exercises an out clause and jumps in bed with the ACC, I'd like to see Barclay's do the same thing and escape the A-10. I could live with a C7 tourney at that shiny new arena in Brooklyn.

T-Bone

It's gotta be MSG.
The big ticket donors are the ones that drive it.  Not what any athlete wants to see.  Big donor wants to go to NYC, not Indy, maybe Chicago or DC.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

As pointed out on Dayton's fan forums, the cheerleaders in this conference will be the most covered up women ever.
