Sounds like "The Gang of Seven" are moving quickly and they have moved past the crevice.

One thing that interested me there...Notre Dame could be persuaded to stick around? Didn't expect that, but I'd welcome it if they wanted in. I don't think they would, but with the ACC suddenly looking weaker than it was when they joined a month (or so) ago, it might not be that far-fetched. Especially with their delusions of grandeur at an all-time high with them on the verge of achieving Independent Nirvana.

Flash forward to January 7, 2013 --- The headline reads "IRISH ROLL TIDE OUT OF MIAMI"

ND: So now that we've got enough of that football money for life, we don't need the ACC anymore.  We want to start trying that whole Catholic type thing again considering that, well, we are named after some church in France we think is Catholic.  So can we get in on your 'churchy' new basketball conference?

C7: So the prodigal son returns.

ND: Prodigal what?

C7: Never mind... but you must know that we churchy Catholics have taken a vow of poverty, so you must give up your newly found riches if you want to hoop with us.

ND: Really?  Even my ring?

C7: No, you dumb ass.  We're not poor.  You think we disbanded the old Big East just so we could pull the rug out from under Temple?  Duh... we made out with millions of dollars.  Mission statement dollars.

ND: Why you little devil.  I didn't know you had it in you, kid.

C7: I don't. Get lost.

ND: Really... what?

C7: No, no, no... that wouldn't be the churchy thing to do.  Tell you what... you can stay, but you have to play home-and-homes with Gonzaga and St. Mary's every year.

ND: St. Mary's?  That will be simple, it's just across town.

C7: Umm, yeah.... town.    So you wouldn't mind playing them 6 times a year then?

ND: Sure.  Piece of cake.

C7: It's settled then.

ND: Great.  Now then, have I shown you my new trophy? It pairs quite well with my ring.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
