Why wasn't he recruited in Wisconsin?  He's from Black River Falls:

Who cares about points? It's more impressive that he got off 108 shots in a 40-minute game!

Because their coach recruits players that buy into his system.  They play a volume game.  Find a youtube video of how their offense is run.  Basically, its 5 man line changes every 4 minutes and non stop running and shooting within the first 10 seconds of the shot clock.

Its a gimmick, but it has been successful for Grinnel

I've seen Grinnell play live a couple of times.  It really is only interesting for about five minutes, and then it starts offending my basketball sensibilities.

I hope they were playing on the court from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
That's the only way to justify 71 three point attempts.

Live about 25 miles from Black River Falls. Watched him play probably a dozen times in HS. Same general attitude in HS. Not much interesting in playing a team-first style. Perfect fit for Grinnell.

I'd have to look back, but I don't recall they ever made even a sectional in his years of HS. He thought he was a D1 player; so he went to a prep school out East somewhere, then a year at UW-L as someone mentioned, now at Grinnell.

Tweet says Madison Memorial played Black River Falls when Vander and Taylor were seniors.

Is this true?

I don't know, not playing defense and having the rest of the team pass up open looks just to feed this one kid definitely seems a bit of mockery to the game.

I'll check. I'd be awfully surprised if that was the case. BRF played a pretty weak non-league schedule those years.

Closest thing they played to a big school his senior year was Marshfield. And no, they didn't even make a sectional in his years there.

It's a fraud, don't encourage it.
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

You should bag more than a few, if you're willing to take 108 shots.  8-)
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
