Just passing along what I heard.  Not a lot of interesting information, a lot of fluff.

He did indicated that DJ has been practicing really well and said that he had gotten his mojo back, his words not mine.  Seemed to imply that DJ was back to freshmen year form.  Was excited about the schedule especially the home games.  Again singled out Lazar as really improving and that he was going to be a huge inside presence for us this year.  Not much other than that.

From everything that keeps getting released or said, Lazar is going to be an absolute force on the court this year. That has got me really excited.

You could be right... I just hope it's not "hype"... I'm trying to think if there are any players in the past that Crean and staff have hyped up publicly and then failed.

Obviously some recruits haven't been the best, but I'm trying to remember if the coaches have gone out of their way to hype a player on the roster like they are doing with Lazar.

Last year at this time Fitz was way over-hyped.  However, I think it was coming more from the boards than the coaches.  But you're right, Crean, Rab and even newcomer Williams have all made a point to spotlight Lazar's development in interviews.  Hope that's more than just motivation.

That's a fantastic, insightful post.

Thanks for adding so much to this conversation. You are really an intelligent, studious fan of the game and we are lucky to have a great mind like you posting around here.
