Other thread took a wrong turn.

7. Marquette

2013 commits (National rank)
PG Duane Wilson (54)
SF Deonte Burton (55)
SG JaJuan Johnson (64)
PF Jameel McKay (JC 4-star)
PG John Dawson (NR 3-star)   The city of Milwaukee has been producing more and more talent of late and Buzz Williams and his staff look to be building a fence around the city. Wilson is an attacking guard who is built to score while Burton is a big time athlete with strength who rebounds and competes. In McKay, Marquette has a high volume rebounder and one of the premier junior college players in the country. After locking up the local talent, they reached into Memphis and nabbed the athletic Johnson.

2013 TEAM RANKINGS
1. KENTUCKY
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Aaron Harrison (4)
PG Andrew Harrison (5)
SG James Young (10)
PF Marcus Lee (18)
PF Derek Willis (129)    It shouldn't come as any surprise that John Calipari and the Wildcats find themselves sitting in the top spot. Cal and the Cats are going on five classes in a row in which they've hauled in the top class in the country. The Harrison twins are a physical, skilled and complete combo at the one and the two while Young can be an explosive wing scorer. Marcus Lee is a shot eraser with developing offense while Willis is a faceup four man who will have time to develop.
2. KANSAS
2013 commits (National rank)
SF Brannen Greene (25)
SG Wayne Selden (26)
PG Conner Frankamp (31)
PG Frank Mason (134)
C Joel Embiid (NR four-star)   It wasn't so long ago that some Jayhawk fans were wondering if Bill Self had lost his recruiting mojo. Clearly that's not the case, as there is a monster class on the way to Lawrence. The race for 2-4 in the team rankings but Kansas gets the nudge based on the projection that Embiid is around a top-35 level player, giving the Jayhawks four players ranked there or higher.
3. INDIANA
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Noah Vonleh (7)
SF Troy Williams (38)
SG Stanford Robinson (51)
C Luke Fischer(116)
SF Devin Davis (122)
SF Collin Hartman (NR 3-star)   On the heels of 2012's monster class, Tom Crean and his staff have already put together a pretty good group. A five-star prospect, Vonleh surprised by giving an early nod and he gives the class star power. Williams is a very athletic wing while Robinson is a playmaker off the dribble and will defend. Fischer will be a solid Big Ten pivot man, Davis is a versatile defender and Hartman can stretch defenses.
4. MEMPHIS
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Austin Nichols (20)
SF Kuran Iverson (27)
SF Nick King (40)
SG Markel Crawford (53)
PG Rashawn Powell (101)   It's very clear, Josh Pastner can hold his own with the nation's recruiting heavyweights, and the Tigers have put together an impressive group for their foray into the Big East. Nichols is a five-star local who can rebound, play above the rim and adds a physical edge. Iverson is a long and lanky scorer who can play at either the three or the four while locals King and Crawford add even more wing firepower. Powell is an athletic floor general who will push the pace.
5. FLORIDA
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Chris Walker (8)
PG Kasey Hill (9)
Head coach Billy Donovan and his staff are off to one heck of a start in the class of 2013. The Gators shut down the state borders to lock up a five-star point guard in Hill and a five-star big man in Walker. Walker and Hill also provide the athleticism and have plenty of experience playing together in the summer.
6. LSU
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Jarell Martin (12)
PF Jordan Mickey (41)
PG Tim Quarterman (66)
C John Odoh (JC 3-star)
PF Deng Deng (JC 3-star)    After some early grousing, fans in Baton Rouge have to be excited about their new coaching staff's recruiting. They scored a big win when they locked down a local five-star in Martin and he'll be an impact player. Mickey is a combo forward with a great motor and athleticism while the multi-positional Quarterman is one of the nation's more versatile players. The junior college transfers, Odoh and Deng, should add size and athleticism to the frontline.
8. LOUISVILLE
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Anton Gill (48)
PG Terry Rozier (2012 80 4-star)
PG Chris Jones (JC 4-star)
PF Akoy Agau (86)    Thanks to a big-time junior college player and another solid high school big man, Rick Pitino and the Cardinals staff have put together one heck of a class. Point guard Chris Jones is arguably the best junior college player in the country and will warrant five-star consideration. Akoy Agau is a big man with skill and they join four-star shooting guard Anton Gill and 2012 holdover Terry Rozier to make a nice class.
9. DUKE
2013 commits (National rank)
SF Semi Ojeleye (33)
SG Matt Jones (35)    The Blue Devils should be feeling pretty good about the wing help they've secured. Both shooting guard Matt Jones and small forward Semi Ojeleye are active scorers and both will be in contention for McDonald's All-American honors.
10. ILLINOIS
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Kendrick Nunn (45)
SG Malcolm Hill (67)
C Austin Colbert (92)
PF Maverick Morgan (NR 3-star)
PG Jaylon Tate (NR 3-star)   John Groce and his staff and company got a late start on the class of 2013 but have done a great job. A product of Chicago's public league, Nunn was a major score and he and Hill should be a nice wing combo. Colbert is a fluid big man who can run the floor while Morgan has the size and skill to play at the four or the five. Tate is another Chicago product and a steady hand at the point.
11. MICHIGAN
2013 commits (National rank)
SF Zakarie Irvin (34)
PG Derrick Walton (47)
PF Mark Donnal (107)    The Wolverines continue to load up their roster with high level talent. Irvin's game has taken a huge leap over the last year and he's a versatile wing with terrific size. Walton is one of the toughest playmakers in the country and Donnal gives them a big man with skill and a body to build on.
12. BAYLOR
2013 commits (National rank)
C Dominic Woodson (39)
SF Ishmail Wainwright (52)
PF Johnathan Motley (105)
It's no surprise to see the Bears making more noise on the recruiting trail. Woodson is a big and crafty scorer while Wainright is one of the most physical players in the country and a true glue guy who does a little bit of everything. Motley is a thin and developing four man who can run the floor and shoot the ball with range.
13. ARKANSAS
2013 commits (National rank)
C Bobby Portis (17)
C Moses Kingsley (62)    Those who saw Portis a few years ago can't have expected he would blossom like this. The high energy big man has made a steady climb up the rankings since committing to Mike Anderson and his combination of size, skill and relentless pursuit of the ball should allow him to be an impact player. Moses Kingsley gives the Hogs a tireless rebounder and defender to pair with Portis.
14. NOTRE DAME
2013 commits (National rank)
PG Demetrius Jackson (28)
SF V.J. Beachem (83)
SG Steve Vasturia (NR 3-star)
PF Austin Torres (NR 2-star)    It wasn't easy, but the Irish were able to get the highly regarded Jackson to stay home and run the show. Jackson is a true leader at the point and will love to get the ball to excellent wing shooters like Beachem and Vasturia. Torres is a bit of a wild card and a local who has some athleticism.
15. NORTH CAROLINA
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Isaiah Hicks (14)
PG Nate Britt (76)    As usual, Roy Williams and his staff are doing well on the recruiting trail. Hicks is a long and athletic local with huge upside who is really just starting to gain experience and will benefit greatly from college coaching. Since busting onto the scene, Britt has been in a funk but if the point guard gets his mojo back this class get much stronger.
16. N.C. STATE
2013 commits (National rank)
PG Anthony Barber (11)
PF Kyle Washington (99)   Mark Gottfried and the Pack and the Pack are proving that 2012's recruiting efforts were no fluke. They made up major ground to get in late and land the super-quick Barber at the point. A native of Minnesota, Washington is a steadily improving big man with a nice frame to build on. It looks likely that they'll add top 50 big man BeeJay Anya soon, which would move them into the national top 10.
17. MISSOURI
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Johnathan Williams III (50)
PG Wesley Clark (71)
PF Torren Jones (117)
Coming off of a strong first season in Columbia, Frank Haith and his staff have put together a strong class. They plucked Williams III out of Memphis and he's a lengthy and versatile power forward. Clark is a quick point guard who knows how to score and distribute and Jones brings his lunch pail to work on the interior.
18. ARIZONA
2013 commits (National rank)
SF Rondae Jefferson (19)
SG Elliott Pitts (120)
SG Eric Cooper (2-star)
Sean Miller continues to recruit very well out in the desert. Rondae Jefferson is a tough guy small forward who plays with terrific energy. Elliott Pitts can shoot with range and is a good passer.
19. UCLA
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Zach LaVine (44)
SG Allerik Freeman (55)
SG Noah Allen (NR 3-star)
Thanks to their 2013 efforts, the Bruins won't lack for scorers at the shooting guard position. Zach LaVine is a slender, explosively athletic slasher who can also play some at the point. Al Freeman is a mid-range scorer with a Pac-12 ready body. Allen is a former Harvard commitment who brings good size and passing to the wing.
20. UNLV
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Christian Wood (36)
SF Jelan Kendrick (JC 4-star)    The Runnin' Rebels continue to add players that will allow them to play a High-octane style of ball. Wood is a long and thin four man who can really stretch defenses with his shooting or finish athletically around the rim. Kendrick had some troubles at both Memphis and Ole Miss before landing in a junior college. But the wing is extremely talented and versatile.
21. CALIFORNIA
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Jabari Bird (23)
SG Jordan Mathews (88)
PG Sam Singer (NR)    The Bears are doing what they can to keep a hold on some top level local talent. Jabari Bird is a five-star wing scorer whose father played at Cal. Jordan Mathews is a four-star who can score off the dribble and is the son of an UCLA assistant.
22. SYRACUSE
2013 commits (National rank)
PG Tyler Ennis (24)
SG Ron Patterson (2012 131)
SF B.J. Johnson (NR 3-star)
PF Chinoso Obokoh (NR 3-star)
In Ennis, Jim Boeheim has found an ideal trigger man for his offense and defense. Ennis makes good decisions, is a very dangerous jump-shooter and is a leader on the floor. Patterson is a scorer who ranked in the 2012 Rivals150 and signed with Indiana before ending up in prep school while Johnson is a young wing with upside. Obokoh will need some time to develop on the interior..
23. FLORIDA STATE
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Xavier Rathan-Mayes (28)
PF Jarquez Smith (111)    The early signing period went well for Leonard Hamilton and the 'Noles as they landed a pair of highly regarded recruits early. A native Canadian whose father played at FSU, Rathan-Mayes is a high level scorer. Smith is a long limbed, slender big man who has loads of potential if he can get more consistent.
24. WEST VIRGINIA
2013 commits (National rank)
C Devin Williams (91)
C Brandon Watkins (127)
PF Elijah Macon (2012 No. 56 4-star)
PF Nathan Adrian (3-star)    Similar to Louisville, the Mountaineers class gets a boost from a guy not qualifying in 2012. A native of Ohio, Macon is a big man who has a Big 12 body and plays with a great deal of physicality. Williams brings bulk and toughness while Watkins is a thin big man who can block shots and has a little scoring pop. Adrian is a local product who should develop into a solid contributor during his time in Morgantown.
25. IOWA STATE
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Matt Thomas (58)
SG Monte Morris (94)
SF Dustin Hogue (JC 3-star)
PF Richard Amardi (JC 3-star)    When it comes to shooters, Thomas just may be the best in the entire country. The Wisconsin native's jumper is a thing of beauty. A tough kid from Michigan, Morris is a combo guard with leadership ability. In addition to those two, the junior college teammates Hogue and Armardi add experience. Hogue is an athletic wing scorer while Armardi brings size and rebounding. The Cyclones also landed USC transfer Maurice Jones.
26. PURDUE
2013 commits (National rank)
SG Kendall Stephens (59)
PG Bryson Scott (80)
SF Basil Smotherman (NR 3-star)    The son of former Boilkermaker Everette Stephens, shooting guard Kendall Stephens can really rip the nets from deep and is blessed with size and length. Scott is a hard nosed kid who can score, defends and can play some at the one or two. Smotherman has matured physically and is coming on as an athlete that can board and play a little inside and out.
27. OHIO STATE
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Marc Loving (No. 63)
SG Kameron Williams (No. 83)    The Buckeyes have landed a pair of guys who can shoot the ball in combo forward Marc Loving and shooting guard Kameron Williams. Loving has to get stronger but has upside while Williams is one of the best shooters in the class and brings Baltimore toughness to the floor.
28. ALABAMA
2013 commits (National rank)
C Jimmie Taylor (60)
PF Shannon Hale (93)   Anthony Grant and the Crimson Tide have gone big with their first two commitments in 2013. With more focus and some physical maturity, Taylor has the tools to climb much further up the rankings. Hale is a four man who can face the basket a bit and he's become a more dedicated rebounder.
29. BYU
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Eric Mika (72)
SG Nick Emery (106)
PF Jakob Hartsock (NR 3-star)
PF Braiden Shaw (NR)
PF Luke Worthington (NR 3-star)    A rugged big man, Mike really burst onto the scene during the summer after sitting out his junior season due to transfer rules. His high school teammate Emery is a highly confident gunslinger from deep who plays with swagger. Hartsock and Shaw add quality depth to the post rotation.
30. SMU
2013 commits (National rank)
PF Yanick Moreira (JC four-star)
SG Sterling Brown (133)
PF Ben Moore (NR 3-star)
Larry Brown has only been in Dallas for about six months now, but the legendary coach's impact is being felt. The star of the class is jucojunction.com's top-ranked junior college player Moreira. He's athletic, fluid and can score at or facing the rim. Brown is a solid defender, versatile scorer and does a little of everything while Moore is an athletic and developing insider.

SG Markel Crawford (53) makes a jump from borderline top 150 to 53 just because he commits to Memphis?  Geez!

No way I'd take Crawford over JJJ!

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It should be interesting to see if this class is better than the Matthews, McNeal, James class.    It has the potential to be that kind of program stabilizer/enricher.

So stoked!   When I was at MU (1984-1988) by my last year we had the #4 recruiting class.....in the State.

This could really be something special the next few years.

I was there the same time, robrob, and you are correct, sir.   More important is how quickly they can make an impact.

I like the class, but the lack of signing not one single post player bugs me.

Let's say Otule leaves.     That leaves Gardner (remembered him this time), JWilson, Taylor, McKay and Juan manning the 4-5 positions.    That is pretty good, particularly if McKay is able to do his Dennis Rodman rebounding thing at the D1 level.    He is 6'9 3/4" in socks after all. (so he claims)

I agree, that's big enough for college. Granted a 6'10" big to alter shots would be nice.

Height doesn't matter if you are long enough to make up for it.
