I hope that they allow the teams scheduled to play this year to accept or decline an invitation to play next year before they go to the other schools who have shown interest.

An engineering solution, eh?  Will he be in town the night before the game to see if it works or just show up at game time and hope everything's peachy?

BrewCity83

I have an engineering solution...play the game during the day.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

At a minimum they should be able to figure out when dew/moisture is likely simply based on forecasted temperature and humidity.  When condensation is probable, play at the backup indoor facility, just like you would if rain was forecast.  So maybe you only play on the ship once every three years or something, but the servicemen and women still get to see the game and when they do actually play on the ship it is that much more special.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Why don't we play the game in a submarine.

San Diego Warrior

So, was everyone who paid the $500-$1000 for that game just out of luck?

The game this year already looked to be far from a sellout.  Good luck trying to get people to pay $500 for a seat next year.

Running a 5 for 1 ticket special on FB the day of game is never a good omen.  Unless you just play Kentucky vs. Duke every year, carrier games will be a difficult sell in the future simply because of the weather-related stigma now attached.

Regardless of the ticket price, how much was the airfare, hotel, etc.?  Try convincing people to spend that kind of cash without any guarantee that a game will be played.  And then tell them no refunds when it gets condensationed-out.
