The irony is that this thread started by criticizing bros and the brosomness. It's now middle aged dudes talking about the weed they smoked in college and making goo-goo eyes at the Dean's daughter.

Glass Houses and all that...

Ed Simmons?  He put a huge pile of kids through MU.  Tim is currently the Executive Director of the Alumni Association and a HS classmate of mine.

Simmons! That's it! What was the daughter's name who transferred from MU to Loyola LA? Man, was she a babeola. I couldn't keep my eyes off her ass for months. Man, I never saw the sky that summer with that thing shakin around in front of me. We went through a couple pounds of Lumbo Gold and Matanuska that summer, man. She had us over to her house for Sunday dinner a couple times, too. I think they lived down in South Milwaukee near a big ass park on the lake. They had like 12 kids. Her old man was a real quiet, serious kinda dude. He didn't say much during dinner as the horde of sonic youth was grabbing the mike all the time. He was the dude who Sinker kept asking if he was related to Martin Balsam or Alan Funt. Finally old Ed asks Sinker if he is always so irreverent on 'the Sabbath.' Funny thing is that he was real gracious to us and made a point to ask about each of us like where we were from what we were studying and where we wanted to go in life. I remember we were pretty laced up on some Thai sticks and his smoking hot daughter rambled on and on about how she got lost on Supelveda Blvd. Her dad finally said that she sounded like she was still lost on Supelveda. One thing I remember is that they had a house keeper or something who looked like Hazel the Maid.

I mixed up the Quade visit. That whole summer is still like a blur, man. Quade's daughter also worked at Admissions and she had us over too. I think the Quade and Simmons girls felt sorry for us cause we lived like filthy animals. We drank 15 cent Red White and Blues at the Lanche and smoked like bags of weed. Dinner was Real Chili, that Gyro place or we grilled brats on this hand me down Weber. Sinker was from Utica NY and during dinner he kept calling it Uterus. I had the good sense to wear a clean Hawaiian shirt but Sinker shows up in a t shirt. The old boy didn't like that one bit and he made someone get him a collared shirt. I think that is what set Sinker off that day cause he went out of his way to be well like Sinker. Quade finally tore into Sinker after the 5th time of calling Utica Uterus. I was really stoked on some righteous blond Lebanese that afternoon so the whole thing was surreal. I seem to recall they lived near the lake too. The dude was a sour guy but his family and hearth scene was pretty cool. They were a nice group of people. It was like they really dug each other like the Waltons or something.

Being in the Automatic part of the student section is one of the best parts of the game. The section gets pumped when Davante goes to the line, and, like the Syracuse game where he goes 12-13 on free throws, the rest of the crowd joins in because. How many other teams have a chant designated for one player, especially when that player loves the chant. He said it makes him feel more confident at the line, and when you can hear a chant like that on TV and see the outcome of his free throws, we got to be doing something right.

Exactly.  It's all you dude.

WayOfTheWarrior

I approve of it because Davante asked the student section to do it in a video shown at the beginning of the season and it doesn't affect his free throws (yet). He is still going strong from the line, so I don't see anything really wrong with it besides personal preference and aesthetic feelings. Plus I kind of like being different from most colleges by doing it.

Now the "I believe" chant is something we copied from a smaller college (Utah State) and since they have an amazing student section is sounds great. The first time we did it last year against G-Town, it sounded great and is on youtube but since then not so much. Our student section just doesn't have rhythm a lot of times *cough cough* thunderclap mis-haps / saying chants in a round.

(I skipped pretty much all of the prior posts so I may be saying things already mentioned or that aren't relevant anymore, oh well)

96warrior

I freely admit I was one of the haters. It's grown on me over the season.

Homer here.
Am I missing something?
Davante likes it and he makes the free throws.
Next.
It's not normal, but nothing about his is normal.
I should have stayed with my first nickname for him "Mozart"

denverMU

I say we get the entire crowd to do the I believe chant and then that will be something.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I really want to get the Blue/Gold chant going again but with the entire stadium. Not just the student section. Dont know who of the alumni/season ticket holders wanna start people to get in on that that would be cool.

I thought this was mentioned last year, but I thought and inside source had requested that the student section stop chanting "automatic" when Davente was shooting free throws. I think we are the only student section in the country that makes noise when our own team is at the line.
Homer this thread started last November with the first post above. Once it was pointed out that Davante wanted the chant basically everyone agreed. Thread gets bumped everyonce in a while......

It's like the damn song that never ends around here.  Guess what, bros?  You won.  The chant rocks our alumni socks.

While we're discussing topics at the peak of their relevance, anything you guys would like to add about what time the Carrier Classic game should have started?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
