A Presidential audience for Marquette and Ohio State?

Barack Obama has been invited to attend the second annual Carrier Classic featuring Marquette and Ohio State Friday night aboard the USS Yorktown in Mount Pleasant, just outside of Charleston, S.C., MU confirmed Monday.

QuoteFor another, it's during Memorial Day weekend.

Christ, here I thought the game was this Friday.  We have to wait until May for this game???

Actually, it already happened and they're just playing it on tape delay for everyone this Friday.

Now, how 'bout extending the invite to the president elect?

Great thanks to that comment this board is going to turn into politics, instead of focusing on the fact it'd be cool to play in front of the president no matter who he is.

Agreed. The "funny" posts like this always fall flat and then either spark anger or die. Not worth it, IMO.

...with all the games Friday, I wouldn't lock myself to just one. Especially after the stress of a campaign, I'd put my feet up, order something awesome from the White House chef, and watch as much basketball as I could. I would not want to still be in glad-handing mode.

If you're planning on going to go the game, you would probably not want the President at the game.  Security would be horrible.  You'll probably have to stand in line for a few hours.

Now that the President and Chris Cristie are bossom buddies the New Jersey Govenor could go in his stead. Of course he would have to run to the opposite side of the carrier every time Devante was running up and down the court to make sure the Carrier would stay level.

MARQKC

Ohio and Wisconsin are key battleground states. I predict three scenarios on whether he accepts the invitation:

If Obama wins both states, he'll be in Charleston on Friday and enjoy a great game.

If he only wins one of them, he'll be in Charleston to root (albeit, silently) for the team from the state he won.

If he loses both or the election, he'll be at the White House, watching on NBC with most of the rest of us.
