A must read.

Lots of good info.

Buzz talked his way around Hunt's question of whether MU is a destination job.  Not sure what to make of that.

Also would have liked Hunt to ask Buzz why he interviewed at SMU last year.

Overall, great interview.  More than what we've gotten from JS in years.

The way the question was asked it indicated that a destination job was your last job. Realistically, Buzz being only 40 years old, cannot know if he is going to coach MU for 25-30 more years and retire.

Wow.   An actual beat writer asking legitimate questions.    Buzz answered them all.   I did notice he repeated himself from previous interviews a couple of times.   But it is tough to be original and interesting every single time.      And Buzz tapdanced a little about leaving and about alleged indiscretions by his players.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Credit to Hunt for doing his job well and to Buzz for not getting unduly riled up when asked some tough questions.  It is what we should expect.

What is a "destination job"? Outside of the handful of blue blood programs, it is a difficult question to answer. It could simply be a place where a coach feels comfortable. Does he have the support of the school, the student body? Is he well paid? Family happy? Look at Mark Few at Gonzaga. Not many coaches would look to Spokane, Washington as a destination, but he is happy and comfortable there. Lots of factors involved in that question and perhaps Buzz has not been a head coach long enough to know the answer to that yet. He also is a pretty sharp cookie, so maybe he wants to keep his employer on their toes.

I don't think he talked his way around that question. In fact he inferred that the MU program is a "big stage".

Hmmm.... subtle dig at Calipari.  Nice.

Enjoyed Hunt's response to the flamer in the comments section.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Michael Hunt is a real pro and conducted an excellent interview.

Buzz was Buzz: entertaining, circular, revealing and a tad evasive at the same time, wordy, humble, eager to praise the athletes, etc.

In other words, a very enjoyable read.

Except for one.

Top notch effort by Hunt.  He put all the questions out there.

Yeah.....no disrespect to Enlund or Rosiak,  but they never had the balls to ask those types of questions.  Kudos to Hunt.

That is true.  If you look at the comments - always a wasteland of ineptitude - he takes the time to respond to one snide comment, as well as a compliment.  In his responses I grt that he is not a fan.  He's a reporter, reporting. Rosiak got a little fan-ish, and Enlund got a little sleepy, while Hunt remains a reporter.  Hopefully he remains objective and putting out quality pieces throughout the season.
