Otule's Glass Eye

First games of the 2012-2013 season start tonight, with Boston (Doc) at Miami (Wade), and Dallas (Jae) at LA (DJO). Games start at 7 on TNT I believe.

Anyone care to make preseason predictions?

Here are mine:

MVP: LeBron James (not that hard of a choice)
DPOY: Dwight Howard
ROY: Anthony Davis

ECF: Heat beat Pacers
WCF: Lakers beat Clippers

Finals: Heat beat Lakers

Finals MVP: LeBron James

ECF: Heat over Celtics
WCF: Thunder over Nuggets

I just don't see the Lakers being healthy enough to get out of the West.

Just out of curiosity, how can you say the Nets are overrated and have them playing in the Eastern Conf. Finals?

Ha! Error on my part. I meant the Knicks were overrated.

Original post edited.

Otule's Glass Eye

Jae has 8 points through the fitst half of Dallas vs Utah tonight. 3-6 FG and 2-2 3PT.

chapman

Strong game from Wes in the Blazer's win over the Lakers.  22 points on 7-11 (4-6 3PT), 4 steals.  Blazers are a really exciting and really young team.  Their oldest player is 30 and Wes is their fifth oldest player, having just turned 26.

Otule's Glass Eye

James Harden scored 37 points 2 days ago in his Houston debut, and followed it up with 45 points tonight. Now averaging 41 pts 7 rebounds and 7 assists through two games.

After a very strong preseason, Novak puts up 17 on 5-8 three's in the Knicks opener.  Looks like the point guard depth is going to help Steve continue to thrive in New York.

That team could be pretty good if Carmelo wasn't such a black hole with the basketball.

He was fun to watch last night, well played offensive game. His defense still leaves a bit to be desired but if he keeps draining open 3's I don't see anyone caring too much

Harden's insane play comes to a hault, going 8-24 in 41 minutes being guarded primarily by one Wesley Matthews.  Harden managed 24, Blazers won in OT.

Looks like DJO might be able to make his debut in garbage minutes tonight, Lakers beating Detroit 73-40 in the 3rd quarter.

EDIT: watching the game on NBA League Pass and I am not seeing him on the bench, must be inactive.

Otule's Glass Eye

Also, I'm hoping Novak and Wes both get into the 3 point contest.

DJO is not on the active roster.

Looks like DJO got in for the last minute in the Lakers' rout of Golden State.  So if anything at least we can now officially add him to the list of MU players who have played in the NBA.  Assists go out to Bernie Bickerstaff for letting DJO finally take off the warm-ups and Devin Ebanks for emulating his college coach and being inactive after getting a DUI.

The Process

Anyone catch the end of the Bucks game last night?  Did Jennings do the right thing ramming Beal after Beal took Ellis to the ground?
Relax. Respect the Process.
