That's interesting...has he actually stated that before.

Congrats to the Badgers and their fans....only 5 teams in the country play slower than you....Eastern Michigan, Western Illinois, Cal Poly, Stephen F. Austin and Virginia. You all must be so proud!

Speaking of Virginia....that will be a heavyweight matchup next week....UW vs. Virginia. Will that game be a first team to 20 wins??

Slow, fast, medium.  It's about winning, right?  The pride comes from success, not how you get there.

It's not entirely about winning, it's mostly about being selected.  Granted, winning is the best means to that end, but there are other ways to get noticed.  Bo has unwittingly stumbled upon an apparent exploit in Pom's methodology, and considering that Pom's worksheets are now in front of the committee during selection weekend, Bo would have to be an idiot to speed things up now.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I think we're underrated, but we have plenty of chances early to boost that up. Wisconsin looks overrated again, though I'm sure Pomeroy's system helps them out again. All of the Big East teams are top-100.

Non-con and Maui opponents:

Ohio State 2
Wisconsin 5
Florida 11
Texas 13
North Carolina 15
Butler 64
Green Bay 121
Savannah State 143
LSU 153

Big East Teams:

Syracuse 7
Louisville 8
Notre Dame 17
Pittsburgh 22
Cincinnati 27
Georgetown 33
UConn 45
Rutgers 52
Villanova 66
USF 76
Providence 78
Seton Hall 83
St John's 87
DePaul 100

Did we reschedule the Ohio St game?

I think Pomeroy's ratings are fair for Wisconsin.  It's all tempo free, so Wisconsin gets rated very highly on a per-possession basis.  It's the reason why they succeed against good teams and lose to worse teams in the tournament.  Less possessions doesn't allow teams to show more of their strengths.

Wisconsin is ranked 342 in Tempo right now at 61 possessions a game.  Jack Taylor's 138 point game was had a pace of 122.8, so basically 2 Wisconsin games in 40 minutes.

No, and per Mike Broeker, we won't be rescheduling it or any replacement game. My hope is that we schedule them again next year.

Yes, agree that the slow tempo stuff works in their favor for that Ken Pom rating.  Let's throw that out for a minute, UW-madison does keep winning and they've been to like 15 straight NCAA tournaments.  It works for them, they've been extremely successful even if some fans here don't like how they play.  They are a tough out and arguably a top 10 program the last 15 years when you weigh everything.  It's their niche and they do it very well.  They finished the 2000-09 decade tied for 20th best winning % at .704%, but some of the schools ahead of them they are better day in and day out (Kent State, etc).

Or that we get an auto invite to the next classic. Except I see Buzz going with some sort of bit saying, "we respectfully decline this year. There should be as many different teams as possible experiencing this event."

Even he admits that his mathematical model doesn't work well for Wisconsin.

Let's just face it.

Wisconsin is just an aberration.

At ALL levels.
