Just curious.  What is the "pecking" order for the assistant coaches?  Are they classified as First Assistant, etc.

If Buzz gets tossed during a game, who takes over, Chew, Autry or Wainwright.

MUBasketball

We'll all find out New Year's Day vs. UConn, since Buzz has to sit that game out.

Who was interim when Buzz was fired this spring?

You mean when LW sent Buzz home for the summer?

Has that been confirmed, or are you guessing?

MU did issue a statement saying Buzz would be out for the first BEast game (this was back in August)...

Would think Autry will be the main man.

Also, I think it's important to note that the release commented on proposed changes coming from the NCAA on penalties.. a document has been posted by USA Today tonight that includes detail on the proposal... so, may have been more of a reasonable/wise move on MU's part vs. something evil and extra mean LW did.
The portal is NOT closed.

Wainright will coach that game.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Has Wainwright officially been promoted?

Not yet on the MU website.  As such, asDBB, he cannot yet be the coach for the UConn game

So, do you actually mean to say that LW willing bypassed an opportunity to do "something evil and extra mean"?  Why then did LW (a domer) even take the job?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Here's the link for that article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2012/10/25/ncaa-penalty-enforcement-document-board-of-directors/1659413/

QuoteThe document reads, "A head coach is presumed responsible for major/Level I and Level II violations (e.g. academic fraud, recruiting inducements) occurring within his or her program unless the coach can show that he or she promoted an atmosphere of compliance and monitored his or her staff."

Any coach who is found responsible for the most serious violations under those guidelines will be subject to an entire-season suspension, according to the document.

The new guidelines also state that beginning Aug. 1, 2013, men's basketball coaches can be suspended for violations ranging from illegal contact with recruits, giving team gear to prospects or impermissible benefits given by third parties if the coach
knows the third party has a relationship with the recruit.

Football coaches can face suspension for violations such as holding 7-on-7 on campus or providing written scholarship offers before Aug. 1 of a prospect's senior year.

In both cases, the head coach could be suspended for violations committed by his assistants.

I'd agree with Jay Bee--based on these changes, I think that this was probably a wise move after reading the tea leaves and seeing what was coming down the pike.  Even though the letter of the law wouldn't apply to this situation (I assume), with something like compliance, probably best to be on the risk averse side.

If last night was any indicator, I'd guess Chew will be the guy to coach the team against UConn. He seemed to be the lead coach opposite Buzz in last night's scrimmage. Had a chance to talk to him for a few minutes last night and he definitely has a lot of charisma and seems to want to hit the ground running. Talked a bit about the big shoes he has to fill with Benford leaving but that he's ready to work. The players really seem to have taken quickly to him.
