DJ comes in at #63. He is the 17th best PG listed.

well now I'll never be able to trust ford's judgement again. If DJ isn't in the top 10 college pg's in the nation, then his ratings are irrelevant

17 seeems like a ton, but off the top of my head these guys would be ahead of DJ at least because they didnt sabotage draftniks' opinions of their games this spring:  Gordon, Mayo, Rose (three no-brainers), Lawson, Singletary, Collison, Collins, Chalmers, Lofton, Steele (if healthy), perhaps Sessions (outplayed DJ in Orlando), perhaps Bruce and Neitzel (skills only).

Next year's draft pool will be guard-heavy

Dish

Here's the list of PG's listed. Take with a grain of salt that some of these guys are listed as PG's and not combo guards.

Mayo (1 overall on his board)
Rose (3)
Lawson (9)
Jerryd Bayless, Arizona (19)
Collins (20)
Augustin (22)
Collison (23)
Reynolds, Nova (24)
Maynor (28)
Tyrese Rice, BC (31)
Rudy Mbemba, Sweden (34)
Matt Bouldin, Zaga (41)
Nick Calathes (55)
Price, UCONN (56)
Chalmers (59)
Mantas Kalnietis, Lithuania (62)
DJ (63)

PG's of note listed below DJ
Neitzel
Sean Singeltary
Stephen Curry
Steele
Devendorf
Paulus

He has Lofton listed as a SG (77 overall). No mention of Sessions or Bruce.

yeah, i can understand the rating because of his draft camp performances, but given the way he can play, emphasis on can, i don't see to omany except for the those top 3 ahead of him. and I would think since DJ seems focused on becoming a true pg he would be higher, since some of the guys you mention are score first pg (lofton, nietzel, maybe collison).

either way i don't think there are too many better than him, comparable yes, but better? only in differnt aspect of their games.

thae guards will be deep though in the draft, and hopefully for MU's sake that will keep DJ here one more season. I say for MU's sake, because I hope for his sake he has a great season and can go in the first round if he decides to go early, again.

Kinda shocked there is no mention of Jonathan Wallace of G-town.  Seemed like a hell of a PG whenever I saw him play.

Lol.....I always love it when kids who have never even practiced in college, much less played a game, are rated higher then returning college players. Also, Sessions is in the NBA. With the Bucks, no less.

Wallace was a Senior last season.

good...stuff like this is making that chip on dj's shoulder reappear.  its up to him to prove to ford (and everyone else for that matter) that he is a high quality point guard.  he has the heart of a champion and will help lead MU to its most successful season since 2003.

why isnt the talented ND freshman point guard on that list?  why is aj price on the list...cause he goes to yukon??

No mention of Sessions

That's because Sessions stayed in the draft and was picked by the Bucks in the second round.

Murffieus

Louisville's Soja and ND's Tory Jackson belong high on that list as well!

Actually, Wallace was a junior last year.  http://guhoyas.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/gu-m-baskbl-mtt.html

Indeed, I was wrong on that. I was thinking about a different player.

DJ won't even be player #1 or #2 on MU this year. Ya heard it here first.

I can understand not being #1, because the way Jerel is coming on, and how signinficant his playing well contributed to our success last season as much as DJ, but not #2 I would think is stretching it.

I forsee DJ taking a much more pure pg role and distrubting and making teamates better and scoring when available and needed much like Steve Nash.

if you're right about that, it means this team is damn good and will go pretty far this year.  dj is still a nba caliber point guard so if mcneal and hayward or matthews are better than him, its good news for crean and mu.
