Well, at least he owns it:

"I wanted to give him a good reason to flop," Batum said.

Batum was angry with the Spanish guards for falling to the floor for what he believed was incidental contact throughout Spain's 66-59 quarterfinal victory over France at North Greenwich Arena.
Asked by Yahoo! Sports if he believed his punch to the groin had given Navarro 'good reason,' Batum smiled and said, "I hope so."

66-59 ?! OK, which team is bo coaching?

The Process

Maybe Batum was sticking up for Carmelo.
Relax. Respect the Process.

Toss him from the games.  That was pathetic.

Granted, that was WAY over the line, but what is the appropriate way to retaliate against a team that is getting away with egregious flops like that?  It would infuriate me, too.

Put more baskets in the bucket and win the game.

Don't have to...it was in the final seconds of an elimination game. France was pretty much locked into the loss and Batum wouldn't have played again anyway.

Sure you do.  You send him home without be able to attend anything else else olympic related, and then you ban him from 2016.
