Just speaking "truth to power"!  I believe he took the question in the good natured way is was meant.
He definitely answered with a sense of humor.  Good Job Denver.

We just won't invite Larry to participate in the MU vs ND prediction thread. That way, Colorado Warrior won't get PO'd.

Is our basketbal program spend truly one of the highest in NCAA? If no, why not spend more?

Have their been discussions about a basketball-only split off from the BE and under what conditions will that occur? If their have been discussions, who is leading the conversations? Us? Gtown?

If we had a bball spinoff conference, how would revenues be impacted?

How involved is ESPN in the conference realignment process?

Did Marquette make Buzz and Crean or Did Crean and Buzz make Marquette?

Terriffic questions that it would be great to get answers to.  Did you send them to Marquette mailbag?  I don't think that Larry Williams is going to come on MUScoop to answer them.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

What do you get when you cross a pig with a Notre Dame alum?  Nothing, there are some things that a pig just won't do.

That Buzz answer won't exactly put the naysayers at ease.

There was no offer of guaranteed lifetime employment, or even a statement to the effect of; "If Buzz goes, I go."

We clearly have a full fledged hate thing going with the rodents, but I've yet to see a ND troll lurking on MUScoop.  Does this mean that (gasp!) all this ND hate is unrequited?  Is Digger on ESPN all they got?

I have it on good authority that, amid all the SMU stuff, Larry walked into Pilarz' office, laid his Notre Dame jersey across his desk and said "I want Buzz to AD in my place."

I thought buzz didn't golf.  is larry lying?

The question now becomes, who did the ball washing?

Canned Goods n Ammo

I think on one of the Buzz Williams shows Buzz said he doesn't really care for golf. That doesn't mean he doesn't play occasionally, I think he just said something about how it doesn't suit him.

Given what we know about Buzz's personality, I can't imagine him going out for 4+ hours and having the patience for golf. Especially because it takes a decent amount of practice to just to learn to play the game and enjoy it.

So, if I'm to interpret this correctly, Larry forced Buzz to play golf, furthering the schism.

4everwarriors

Crean sure as hell was a non-golfer. Didn't stop him from posing for the cameras or clapping like a nomad.

Larry:  Buzz, let's go make amends over a nice and friendly round of golf.  I've got my ND golf bag and my ND tie, ND socks and ND golf balls.

Buzz:  I don't play golf, it's way too slow of a game.  I have no patience for slow.  Why don't you just let me build the team I want and give me all the resources to do that?  I really think this University is on the brink of another national champion.

Larry:  I think I know what it takes to play like a champion in today's sport world, Buzz.  We're not there yet, and until we are, we're not going to invest anymore in your basketball team.  Now let's go shoot a round, unless you've got some dance lessons to go to.

Buzz:  Screw you, Larry.

Larry:  Go polish your Sweet Sixteen Ring.

::Larry sits down for his interview.  Upon being asked about his relationship with Buzz Williams, he responds:  "I love Buzz, he's a great guy and a hardworker.  We actually just played a round of golf together.  Such great memories."

I actually saw Larry Williams and his family (wife and 2 sons) in church (4:30 Saturday mass) 2 weeks ago.  They had clearly just come off of the golf course, as they were all wearing khaki shorts and golf shoes.  While he may have a ND golf bag, they were all 4 wearing MU golf shirts.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

The MU athletic department has a membership agreement with Mequon country club.  I hear Buzz has a membership but plays only 1-2 x a year and spends most of the time on his cell phone.  I'm sure he and Larry played there.

Yeah, that's where Crean was publicly obnoxious to the wait staff. BTW, one of the crappiest courses around. 27 holes, but maybe 20 are decent and not tricked up. Best of luck turnin' the joint around.

Matching shirts and shorts? Maybe they were coming from having their Christmas card picture taken.

If a nomad claps and no one is around, does he make a sound?

MUScoop has it on good authority that Tom Crean was tweeting about tanning beds long before he was tweeting about God.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

haha, you mean obnoxious to me!  Showed up late, was not dressed for the place, and was rude to me and his entire family.

No tweeting about the tanning beds - he visits them on the down low.

The bottom line is that you can take a guy out of the Appalachians, but he's always gonna be poor white trash. Crean's a hillbilly.
