This is the second match-up of a 16-person bracket looking at the best individual season performances of the last decade. The complete bracket is at the bottom of each match-up. Vote early and share. The more votes, the better. 8. Darius ... Continue reading →

Wow...no respect for DJO. He had a fantastic senior campaign and was remarkably consistent. The only game all season (not just Big East play) where he didn't reach double-digits was WVU, and he scored 9 in a half. I know he was overshadowed by Crowder, but he had an excellent year and led us in scoring for the second time.

Also, surprised to see James doesn't have any seeds better than the 13. I'd have to really sit down and look at everything to make a fair assessment, and haven't had time yet, but I think his 05-06 season should easily be top-10, and I'd probably take his freshman year over Robert Jackson's one year (though I realize the massive impact a true center had on that 03 team...just saying from a pure numbers perspective).

I also thought DJO would have a decent shot of winning this one, and certainly didn't think it would be 70-30 in Butler's favorite. Maybe because DJO was the No. 2 on that team, but he was still an Honorable Mention All-American.

+1 on both points.

I think some of the thought process on this one, at least for me, was as great as DJO was last year, he also had Jae's performance to help take off some of the pressure.  JFB, was the leader, the star, the defensive stopper- the everything that year.

DJO had two game suspensions his senior year. JFB never let his team down and was a model of high consistent performance. His defensive work on Tu Holloway was one of the best I have seen.  And, one I don't think Tu ever got past.

Well, the article accompanying the poll has two one paragraph summaries on each of these guys seasons followed by four paragraphs by Frozena arguing for Butler.  I can see why the disparity got even bigger.

Was it Butler's junior or senior year that he had two or three last minute shots to save/win Big East games on the road?  I remember one was at UConn.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

We had teammates lined up for each player, and only Frozena responded. My apologies...
