Pet Sounds is fantastic, and if you ever see any BIO shows about them, it's very interesting.

Their original stuff, especially the sound engineering, mixing and harmonies were ahead of the curve.

If they had broken up pre-1980 and never reunited, I think they would be more highly regarded. As it stands, they have been commercialized and marginalized over the past 30 years (their own doing).

With all of this said, I don't find myself listening to them that often, so there's that.

I saw the Beach Boys with my parents about 16 years ago with my parents when I was 10 or so. 

They put on a great show... but that was 16 years ago and they weren't spring chickens then.

World War II hadn't even started yet when these guys were born.  Saw them first in concert at ChicagoFest and they were in the wet diapers then...but put on a great show.
